That last bride shouldn't have been trying on mermaid cut gowns if she wanted to be able to play hockey in her dress. The correct cut would have been an A-line with a traditional waist. It sounded like she only tried one A-line, and it was "too frilly" for her.

While it's so fun watching the different versions of Say Yes To The Dress, I'll never understand why the out of the box brides, or unlimited budget families often don't get something custom designed in the first place. Then it can be whatever you actually want instead of frankenstening what you want out of already made dresses 🤷♀️

Plenty of them do. Custom super expensive wedding dresses are made all the time. But of course, we won’t see them on this show.
@aleksandragieralt73702 ай бұрын
Some of them overdo it, but most brides I know in real life, including myself, "Frankensteined" their dress. My dress was made of lace, but I got married in a traditional Catholic church and I needed to line the plunge and upper portion of the sleeves. There were many dresses that covered the cleavage and shoulders, but they were all shear, and, for our church, that needed lining. Why didn't I get a custom dress? Because the shape and the lace were perfect, it was just too shear. Nowadays, most dresses are either sleeveless or shear on top, so some brides add sleeves or line them for modesty. I've seen custom dresses on Say Yes to the Dress and most of them look a lot more basic than the ones on the shelves and in the stock room. I think some of the modifications brides are asking for are minor. There are beautiful custom dresses out there, but I don't know what's wrong with minor tweaks.

My thoughts, which really mean nothing to anyone else except me, is to go formal for the wedding, it is just the classy thing to do. However, for the reception, if you have a certain theme, then get a party dress and dance the night away. . .get your funk on!! I did not have the wedding I wanted, but I love my amazingly wonderful mil so much, that I did the traditional choice. The colors I chose were her favorite, and I had no idea! I made my own dress, so it was exactly what I wanted, and had a beautiful ceremony and fun reception!! I didn’t sacrifice the parts I wanted, while I was able to implement the parts my Mom and MIL hoped for. You never know how great something will turn out!!

I don’t care if formal or not, a dress should be comfortable and movable in, to dance or in case of emergency to be able to RUN! Hence the two in one dresses are my preference, have a removable layer that shortens the dress and allows movement to enjoy and celebrate the celebration after the signatures are out the way.

I'm sure you're probably well aware that all this is nothing but hyped up "entertainment, meant for nothing more nor less than to make gullible viewers all simp, ooky, and up in arms about the brides' choices. In real life, the staff of bridal salons don't give a rat's rump what a bride wants; if she wants to find a dress made of toilet paper sheets, they'll do their best to accommodate her bizarre request, and get on with their lives. It's very well documented all over the Internet that all "reality" tv shows are nothing but lies and hype, and this one show is one of the biggest in that way of doing things. Randy himself typically gets decent reviews, but even he has said that the producers and directors who show up to film have all the say about the way the entourages interact with the brides, and it's typically just a bunch of unbelievable garbage (he didn't use the word garbage, but it's the perfect word for the foolishness of these shows).
