Theese locomotives are fascinating. First generation Electrical Locomotives using electric power but still very much Steam Locomotive tecnology. The whole drive-train is taken from Steam tecnology. Wonderfull. And it is SO good that some have been preserved.

The traction motors were too big in this time to mount it to the axles like it's made today, so they chose this solution. The German crocodiles (built in the 30s) are more,, modern'', they have 6 smaller motors mounted at the axle.

Super Darstellung. Das Krokodil für mich die schönste Schweizer E-Lok.

The crocodile may not be steam but it looks very human like for an electric engine and is a beautiful machine.

These "crocodiles" make a lot of noise / sound loud. (Most electric locomotives are fairly quiet). Good video, thank you very much! Diese "Krokodile" zu machen ziemlich viel Lärm. / Diese "Krokodile" machen eine Menge Lärm. Gute Video, ich danke Ihnen sehr!

@Transalpin76 I could watch these things for hours! I like the utilitarian beauty about them, and they look like they could pull just about anything!

@vipmebim Thank you, enjoy! There are three big ones and a smaller one in service for historic trains in Switzerland (standard gauge). Two of them are green, one is brown and the smaller one is in red livery. I'll add some videos next week.

@Transalpin76 I remember the small brown crocodiles on the passenger freight service in the 90's and travelled behind it on a couple of occasions.

This old motor is in fine shape due to its maintenance and the clean nature of electrics.

@hughvane8 жыл бұрын
1. Are there any videos of 'under the hood' or 'cab ride' of these machines? 2. When only one pantograph is raised, does that indicate that power is going only to the motor at that same end?
@haramaschabrasir86627 жыл бұрын
1. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3bEcomdobSibKs This video is unfortunately not translated, but still interesting to watch. 2. No, the power is distributed equally. The pantographs are redundant for safety reasons.

Was mich bei solchen Veranstaltungen immer nervt, sind die Typen die alles immer ganz genau sehen müssen und sich vor die Fotografierenden und Filmenden stellen müssen (wie auch hier zu sehen ist).
