Thanks for all these videos they have been very helpful this past year in my S10 build. I am in the short rows now and should have the truck on the street this coming week. Would love to send you some pictures of the finished truck.

That is great to hear. I would love to see some pictures of the finished project. I have a lot left on mine, but I hope to resume messing with it again soon and have it ready for the streets next spring.

Trying to get the Sanderson headers to seal on the Heads at the moment. Truck runs great except for exhaust leaks at the heads. Instructions says to run a thin bead of RTV with no gaskets but that is not working. Going to try some Remflex gaskets and if that doesnt work I guess I will have to send the headers back and try another brand. But real close to being road ready. @@304customsgarage

Remflex 2005 gaskets worked. I drove the truck today for the first time. Need to do some weights adjustment in the transmission governor to get the shift points at a higher RPM but thats to be expected. Fresh Turbo 400 with Hughes torque conv. Just need to put some break in miles on it and change the break in oil out. So far so good.

I’ve got a budget/mild 350 project, 2 bolt main roller block (.040 over) keeping stock rotating assembly just putting new pistons in. Flat top 4 valve relief. I have a set of bone stock vortec heads and am having a hard time deciding which roller cam I should buy to be able to chop like a hog and still flow good. Going to run a 650 cfm carb. If you have any advice for me I’d appriciate it. Thank you! (This will be my first sbc build)

Can you please post the Steering Pump part number you used? I have a Saginaw Pump with a press fit shaft, however it leaks.

What type of cam button did you use?
@304customsgarage Жыл бұрын
I used a steel one from comp cams for this

@@304customsgarage Does that one require a lock plate as well? How is the end play set? thanks
@304customsgarage Жыл бұрын
The one I have also has the lock plate. As far as the end play the way I did it because of the timing cover i had was putting the dial indicator on a rear lobe of the cam put pushed the cam forward with a long screw driver. This was however isn't the most accurate because of the angle but was within specs that way (don't recommend that way because of the angle) but it was better than guessing. I should've just spent the money and got one of those multi piece covers but wanted to use what I had as far as parts. It seems some of them have a place to check that stuff accurately already (like a comp cams cover), I definitely will get one of those for future motors.

@@304customsgarage Yeah I liked the idea of the Cloyes cover with the built in button and the place in the front to set the end play. HOWEVER Tyler from TPV productions who has many S10 V8 videos here on youtube, used one of those covers and the button came apart and ruined his 400 sbc. He has videos of this. So I used the Nylon buttons since that. It seems like someone would come up with something better. The engine I am building for my S10 is a factory roller block so I didnt have to fool with the cam button this time.

Yeah Ive watched several of his videos before, haven't saw that particular one but ill look. I agree wish there was another option but I guess in my case I'll have to cross my fingers and hope nothing breaks. Next time definitely at least a better cover
