because round earth contradicts the Biblical description of the Pillars of the Earth and the waters above being held by the Firmament, therefore the idea of a spherical Earth is used to undermine people's faith in God.... or if you're a Flat-Eather who isn't also a religious nutter as well, NASA and other space programs are just money laundering schemes for their governments that need to lie of Earth being a sphere in space in order to convince people that there is an outer space that exists at all in order to justify the existence of a super expensive program that is actually a just putting money in the pockets of the elite...

It's not the whole "earth being flat" thing that makes me hate flat earthers. You can somewhat tell where they're coming from. It's the whole "every single proven fact about the universe and every major event in world history was made up by the government to control us" thing that removes all credibility

I slowly but surely have lost all patience with conspiracy theories and, as part of and directly linked and related to those, pseudosciences; *_mostly_* from people of an educational background, perceived IQ, and mental age where it's inexcusable for them to believe it and let their emotions guide their brain in such a baffling way. Falsifiability, Occam's Razor, and scientific methods mean nothing to these people; they are in dangerous levels of denial *and likely* mentally ill in some way, whether through illusory pattern perception, confirmation bias, or other fallacies; some of these _people_ may even *have* a mental illness *causing* the aformentioned perception, seeing connections where there are none yet not channeling them through art and language via fiction or other healthier outlets, but conflating them with physical reality. They need serious help and a wake up call, because they almost exclusively just drag humanity down, fill an already nearly-infinitely packed World Wide Web with more useless false-truths, and make things worse for about everything and nearly everyone else.

They are also people that can be counted on to disbelieve a number of things other people take for granted as fact.
