I'm still trying to figure out why Batman's villains are still alive if he's willing to kill low level thugs. Joker should've been the first to die by this Batman
@geryldpina70917 жыл бұрын
x CEGold I guess you’d like the red hood then, since he tells Batman the same exact thing.
@machine16857 жыл бұрын
I'm familiar with Under the Red Hood story, but this is a bit different. Under the Red Hood was Jason upset that The Joker was still alive after he had killed him and called out Batman's moral code, calling it flawed and putting it under scrutiny. In this instance, it would be why is he killing two-bit thugs but not the real threats to Gotham (Harley, Deadshot, Killer Croc, Joker...etc.). Batfleck would not have an acceptable answer to that question, unlike the Batman in the comic and animated film. Which reminds me that they can no longer do that storyline in the DCEU and have it make sense. Jason would be right. Bruce would have no moral high ground to stand on under Jason's accusations- Why IS the Joker still alive after he killed him, if that moment drove him to start killing in the first place?
@geryldpina70917 жыл бұрын
x CEGold Yeah I agree with you completely. When it comes to the cinematic universe, Batman should have killed the joker a long time ago if he’s ok with killing random thugs. It’s another inconsistency in this flawed cinematic universe
@machine16857 жыл бұрын
Geryld Pina At the VERY least he should've been branded. They could've had the Joker turn the brand into a tattoo since that's a thing the Joker does in this universe

The funny part to Suicide Squad is, with the exception to one or two characters, every character is completely out of character. From Deadshot being changed from "I kill for money and the thrill of the impossible shot" to Will Smith's "I'm a cool dad just trying to provide for his daughter", to Waller changing from "I do bad things for the greater good" to "I need to kill all my underlings to keep them from seeing my mistakes". Hell, DC cut out every scene they shot that showed Joker abusing Harley because "no, that's bad, he really loves and cares about her."

The thing I really hated about this movie was Amanda Waller killing her FBI agents. I hate that trope in general; the boss killing their own henchmen for any reason. They were just doing their job and she killed them because of her screw up and wanted no one to find out? And what great justice Bruce Wayne has. He blackmailed a corrupt government official in favor of his own interest in forming a team (who I remind you are useless without Superman) ironically called the Justice League. Waller was the real villain and she got away scot-free by the so-called protector of justice. I also want to remind you the Suicide Squad is created to take down Superman-level threats. Meaning Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang are capable to take down Steppenwolf.
@AvarllanTelesto7 жыл бұрын
Well it was a pretty accurate representation to the comics Waller in the comics is a villian almost as bad if not worse than some of the villians in the suicide squad.
@MantraMan20777 жыл бұрын
Space Cowboy Yeah, but in the comics she's smart and has understandable motivations. Here she's just a whiney baby to the government who unleashes world-ending inflatable-Arm-Flailing-Tube-Woman threats, and then goes "Look how _right_ I was! World Ending threats, just like I told you!" "But... it's your fau-" *_"I WAS SO RIGHT GUYS!"_*
@andrei11dr7 жыл бұрын
That trope is used to make the viewer understand that vilan is really evil, like they think you have a fucking monkeys brain, wich is a safe assumption if you're still watching suicide squad . But then again ,wat dose that say about us ?

The Suicide Squad in the comics was also a wetworks operation meant to deal with shady stuff the government didn't want the superheros to know about, which is why villains were recruited. If the operation went south, the government could just cut ties and disguise the operation as another supervillain attack. The fact that the movie Waller somehow thought the group could take on a Superman-level threat is downright stupid. Viola Davis was wasted in the role, and I feel bad because she clearly acted the hell out of the material she was given.

The worst part about this fucking movie is how they romanticize Joker and Harley's relationship and instead of it being an abusive one which is like the center point of Harley's character, we get a crazy weird forced love story cause every scene involving any abuse between the two was cut cause WB knew there would be more money made in selling a cray cray relationship and making every 15 year old girl want their own Joker and dress up as Harley then actually have a good portrayal of an complex issue
@kyleespiritu49467 жыл бұрын
as much as I agree that the relationship between Joker and Harley should not have been changed, I still think that the movie's portrayal was interesting. We rarely ever get to see a Joker-Harley relationship play out where they both care for each other and if anything, I feel as if the movie was at least able to show how much destruction such a crazy relationship like theirs would have resulted in if they did actually care abut each other.
@felixdaniels377 жыл бұрын
Kyle Espiritu But there's a reason as to why we don't see that, because it completely nullifies Harley as an actual character. Any depth she could have is lost all for a shallow romance, when the entire point is that Joker is not something to be romanticized to begin with. He's a monster, one that has manipulated countless people like her before, and will continue to do so long after she inevitably sacrifices herself to save him. She's just a number to him, having her be this special snowflake is a complete disservice to any potential development she could possibly have.
@zachstackhouse27857 жыл бұрын
Girls like Harley Quinn BECAUSE some cray women like to romanticize relationships to dangerous people, see Fifty Shades, Twilight series both. I don't think there's a problem with changing the relationship to appeal to the character's fans. In particular, if they did it out of the original canon, people would freak the fuck out.
@felixdaniels377 жыл бұрын
Zach Stackhouse Why wouldn't there be a problem if the dynamic is LITERALLY ALL THERE IS TO THE CHARACTER? The only reason Harley works is strictly because she's a victim, take that away and she's nothing more than shameless fanservice. This has been proven time and time again, with each time they try to change Harley they just turn her into the cheesecake girl rather than an actual character.
@lancetlo7 жыл бұрын
Harley works without being a victim.
@blitzkriegdragon0137 жыл бұрын
For the people who think method acting is about going crazy or some shit, it's not! Method Acting is a Strasberg method which involves using moments from your personal life to inform your character. Examples are things like sense memory: where your character is in a hot desert, so you remember a time where you were extremely hot, and let your body react to that memory and feeling of being hot. Another example, your character is a Nazi, so you remember a time you killed a fly or a spider, and let that rage, hatred, and relief inform your character. That's a simplified version. People can stay in character for a while because they don't want to lose that sense memory, because it takes a while to get back. The point is, it's not magic or psycho, it's just bringing as much of you into a scene as possible. It's a method, but not the only method of acting. I'm assuming Leto is a natural prankster so that's what he did to get into character. Ayer should've stopped him when the cast complained. Leto has no excuse himself, but Ayer should have stepped up as a leader and director.

The dc cinematic universe should seriously be scrapped and rebooted. DC and WB can make some incredible films if they get rid of the rotting foundation they’ve created for themselves. DC has some of the best stories in comics, and these movies give DC a bad name.

Flash Point is their only hope to save the Cinematic Universe if you want to start from scratch, but if you get rid of Snider that will absolutely be a giant improvement as well in any direction.

What the fuck would change man? You can reboot a million times and still end up with the same end state. Besides current DCEU has good films.
@rikowolfin49847 жыл бұрын
The thing that would change would be you wouldn't have shitty superman, you wouldn't have a murderous Batman that doesn't kill when it's convenient ( The Joker, Harley and Lex for example ) and Suicide Squad would no longer be a thing and we can completely ignore Leto's embarrassment that was Joker. The only genuinely good DCEU movie was Wonder Woman and Justice League was only decent, though kinda wasted the Death of Superman and made everyone else look completely worthless when you put them right next to Superman would handles everything no problem while the rest of the team struggles to do the one thing each of them are good at, making you wonder why they even have this team after Superman comes back.

Revel in their villainy, their amorality and vices, their debauchery and sadism and hedonism. The neon grime of fun living in dark places, doing whatever and tearing up society like they would anyway, but now its given a justification, not for them but to us. And Waller is the badass puppeteer that is pleased with the anarchy under her control directed at her enemies. And a gangsta joker that's pretty much takeshi 69 irl. And hard music that revels in the anarchy. This was supposed to be Guardians of the Galaxy where none is redeemed cuz they dont wanna be, but comes together and forms bonds out of a shared joy of burning the world and how this squad is a great way to sustainably do that. And where guardians had just nobodies, the squad had joker, deadshot, Quinn, Walker, even cap'n boomerang and flagg have some reputation (flagg would have been great as the classic eighties action hero gi joe character who plays the straight man that cant handle working with characters he would fight if this was his movie, spitting at all rock flagg represents). That's what this movie was hyped to me as, and what's what makes this path re tic mess that much worse.
@ChaoticSorceror7 жыл бұрын
To me the worst part of the movie was how little effort was to make the city they were in not Toronto. I watched the extended edition so I don't know how much of it was in the theatrical release, but what really did it in for me was when the group was preparing to go plant the bomb underneath Enchantress and the shot just has a huge BAY STATION sign right front and center, and then they go into CENTRAL station. During the Joker/Batman flashback you can blatantly see them drive by the Hard Rock cafe twice, too.

One of the things that pissed me off was that alley scene. I know it's just me nerd-whining, but I can't ever see Batman standing by while a gun is being held on a child. I'd imagine that he'd immediately grab her and put himself between her and Deadshot even it meant he might gets shot.

IamTMan007 yeah man I can't believe they kept a crucial part of a character Arc in a movie because a fuking psychopath is abusive we clearly see this is not going back current DC Cannon and he'll the Joker in the animated series was more abusive than this Joker from what we see Jared's Joker slightly cares about Harley
