Thank you again for doing these seriously. I'm 27 now but these guys were like my entire late middle school, all of highschool, and early college entertainment. I could write an essay on why I liked them so much but I'll just say they were important to someone without a lot of friends going up.

Also 27 currently, and the feeling of not having many friends was definitely somewhat eased by listening to these guys. I’m so grateful this channel exists, it’s brought me much comfort in these trying times. 🫂

Woolie on the controls here is so natural. Matt and Pat are able to break each other out of stunlocks, while Woolie just uncomfortably navigates 40's bigotry

Still hate Pat saying everything was Cole's fault, when Ira wasnt in his platoon & was a fire bat for a while, Cole was following orders & Courtney shot HIM(yet Cole still defended him when he got murdered).
@MrZathos8 ай бұрын
Time to relive Pat's wrong opinions on Cole.
@ExemplarKyle8 ай бұрын
Are they wrong though? Cole really did inadvertently set the entire morphine scheme into motion. And he absolutely did get his men killed and ordered the burning of the civilians in the cave. I don't think he's the worst person in the LA Noire world (hi, Roy), but he shows throughout this entire game that he is capable of making some genuinely terrible and shitty choices.
@copiumhsrgi7 ай бұрын
To be fair, Pat goes extremly hard on him, but I think the better part of the story that Cole isn't an ideal protagonist, it makes sense the way he acts with his enviroment around and flashbacks sort of show why he is the way he is. And I think there wouldn't be a Kelso segments to show contrast as well. So Cole's conclusion works because of this too. But that's just my personal take on this.
@TheGarfield04 ай бұрын
@@ExemplarKyle To say Cole sets the morphine scheme in motion is untruthful and removes agency from Courtney. He was the one buttmad at Cole and wanted a better end for his squadmates and started the plan, but Cole had no actual push towards them chosing to do it. It's not like Cole was the one who made america bored of returning GI's, he was just a convenient face for them to push their resentment onto
@bdeamon13 ай бұрын
@@copiumhsrgi I agree, and I also think Pat is exaggerating, but is somewhat correct. I think he's presented as an idealised flat 1940s protagonist, but you see more and more flaws the more you strip back his layers. Rockstar likes doing stuff like that. Cole and Kelso are basically the same person, except Cole is was too afraid of the consequences of integrity when it mattered the most. Like Biggs says, "Two guys who should have been friends, but their personalities got in the way."
@copiumhsrgi3 ай бұрын
@@bdeamon1 Yeah, that's what I believe too, I think Cole is both wrong and right. It works perfectly for this game imo.

I always thought there should have been an alternate ending. So the funeral scene has you playing as Kelso, just sitting and watching the funeral, and after Earle gives his speech you can just follow him outside and blow him away on the street, with Kelso immediately getting arrested after. Just one of those endings where youre like "you get the personal staisfaction, but at the cost of ruining your own life" which I think would have stuck with the Noire themes of the game.
@singingstar9997 ай бұрын
I’m replaying the first red dead redemption at the moment and this comment struck me as a similar ending note. There are definite ties between the themes of westerns and noir. I would’ve liked that too, but Jack seemed to have the perspective that 1) Cole doesn’t have and 2) would allow him to find a life outside this corrupt circle. Maybe letting him go live was the single optimistic note the story needed?

I appreciate the compilation but some of your edits are kind of erratic, like mid-scene you’ll edit out a line said by a character that the SBFP guys then respond to. But still thanks for the work
@superbestfriendsdefinitive1977 ай бұрын
what I think you are seeing mostly is the end of sentences by characters, but the guys rarely respond to anyways. It's for flow as the cuts in the scene can make it look even more jarring when there's 3 frames at the end or beginning of clip.
