probably one of the best actresses in the world since last 20 years.

Agreed. She tends to gravitate towards the roles that require a great deal from her emotionally which is brave.

She’s certainly one of the best actresses of our time, after watching the film I couldn’t stop thinking about her performance, because I felt so much emotion through everything she went through, incredibly frustrating in the best way possible.

both her and Haneke are probably one of the best of the best of 21st century

No doubt, her performance in “the piano teacher”, and in “une affaire de femmes” are two of the best I have seen.
The stillness and objectivity of Haneke’s framing is sublime

I wish someone could explain to me what makes Isabelle Huppert so highly rated.... I personally struggle with her as I feel like she is too "cold" for her 'characters' (sorry to use the word) but I just don't feel the other person being channeled. I just see HER. and her usual coldness and depreciation and despite for humanity and cold intellect... Is this what directors are tripping on ? A woman who is basically mean and quasi sociopathic/robotic ??? A disincarnated actress? That's what fascinates them so much ? To film an automaton going through life mimicking human emotions? To film madness and 'evil'? Come to think about it that must be it, because no one has as much rage and fear inside as her...

Could not agree with you more. Nice to see I'm not alone in thinking! She's just...cold.

she is incredible when it comes to playing a role and you can tell by how she answers the questions here, her wise intuition has allowed her to give excellent interpretations and precisely says that she likes to be as realistic as possible within a fiction and this as a spectator gives you participation in the work because it will start an internal or external debate and in fact, i think she always looks for it, since most of her roles can make you reflect beyond on human behaviour; maybe simply the type of cinema she prefers and that i also prefer to see, it's not what you like because you don't like to ask yourself questions and introspection about our dualities and extremes as humanity (and ok, for tastes, there are colours). about what you say about the directors filming madness and evil... well, they criticise the human himself and the toxic environment in which he lives. hasn't human history always been like that? rather they like how complex it is and like everything, they are amazed both by the kindest and most detestable qualities of human. Huppert has said many times that cinema is a language and personally i think that with her, we have a small group of real actors who speak it to the audience through their talent. i also don't know what type of cinema you consume the most but Hollywood is not comparable to European cinema, where simplicity and human instinct are preferred in situations that are sometimes more extravagant but ordinary at the same time. also that in Europe there are a majority of adults than young people, so cinema is more mature and the eye of someone 18 years old, can overlook many details that makes human to the character who is played on screen and also, the more you grow, the more intricate you are as a person, some more mental than others and others more impulsive; sometimes even more existentialist, more disappointed in life, you see? sometimes when you grow up you are more "extreme" because experience and life have already tanned you more or have upset you too much and precisely, most of Isabelle's roles are that complicated and that makes her a Master of Acting because she manages to transmit it flawlessly, not to mention that she is also passionate about theatre and that is exquisite, more mastery in her work and another fabric to cut from. that “no one has much rage and fear as her” thing… oh ! come on ! like… what age you have and tell me your top five of favorite movie’s haha. she is 71 years old, she has lived longer than you and me, that’s admirable and to celebrate and come on, neither you nor i know her, we only know her public image, you can't just assume that nonsense when the only criticism that can be made is about her interpretations.

How do they find the energy? They never stop, they’re like cyborg society people. I wonder what’s next? Great sensitivity cyborgs. I want to cuddle one.

i think it can be addictive since it is a job that involves the most beautiful things in life: imagination, expressing yourself, meeting new people and imagining with them, curiosity, travelling and knowing that you will give many people happiness with your work; the arts are the most beautiful thing a human can dedicate himself to, it is like never stopping playing when you are a child and that makes you happy (money is another great plus, although you can see that Isabelle is one of those people who really find pleasure in what she does and that’s one of the reasons that makes her the greatest and my favorite actress of course)
