Hello from Michigan - I completely prefer the SC Project over stock in every way. I totally prefer the DB killer out. By a tremendous margin. You do what you have to do, but I'd leave it out. **I've left the DB killers out of my bike but in my part of the world - awash in Harley's with open pipes... my bike sounds modestly loud. lol. ('19 Speed Triple RS).

Hi Scott, yea, actually it's still sitting in my garage WITHOUT the dB killer in it. :) I keep telling myself to put it back in but I seem to never find the time to do it. Even though it only takes about 5 minutes to put it back in...LOL! My wife thinks it's really annoyingly loud...hmm...hehehehehehe. Cheers from Germany, Scott

Sounds good without the DB killer... if it NEEDS to be in... modify it a bit to get the in between...

Yes, agreed, I love the sound without the DB killer. But if I leave the DB killer out, then I have to wear ear plugs all the time because it really gets to me after a while and just after 1 hour of riding, I can really feel the pounding in my ears several hours after riding it. Plus my wife says that she can hear me coming from the main road before I even get to our street, in the house with the windows closed, that is about a half mile away. LOL! Plus if a cop pulls me over and does a DB check, I'll get a ticket cause it's not legal :(

If I recall correctly, cause this was 4 years ago for me 🤔 there is a ring at the end of the pipe, take that off and then you can just pull it out.

Does it meet the TUV regulation with the db killer removed.? And how fussy are they on roadside enforcement in Germany?

No, when I go to the TUV, the db killer has to be in. Umm...roadside enforcement is not as bad as in the U.S. but they will catch you if you are doing something else wrong.

All I hear in my helmet with the stock pipe is the "motorboat, playing card in the spokes" droning..it drives me nuts!..This SC pipe sounds worst..Am I correct?..What can I do to get rid of it?..

Yea, this year I've started to wear ear plugs, when ever I take the SDR out, on longer than a half hour. It helps :)

I am ready to upgrade and my current bike is a Honda CB500F. I feel more comfortable with the idea of going to another Honda, but I love the Speed Twin. I do plan on doing longer riding trips.
