@@masterofthehitenThe truth was not even close to what you're depicting it to be, since TY had a stronger army which could be healed over and over and his buildings where safe in the air till SOS got any air he just had to find SOS bases and overpower them, as there was no way SOS could defend them, he didnt do a good job in doing so and SOS ended up having enough mining time to slowly erode TY army, get some air and afterwards trap TY battlecruisers. TY was the one in a winning position during most of the game, he just had to find the bases in time

This game absolutely wild, loved it. SOS constantly on two or three army groups of stalkers moving across the map while macroing and defending harass, looked like he was playing archon mode

At certain point I really didnt understand TY. He knew SoS has no flying units and the stalkers were not able to fight the BCs head-on-head. Still, he chased them around instead of just sweeping the protoss main. This was SoS was able to slowly replenish stalkers from gates and even build stargate.

I think he felt he would loose fighting over shield battery's and wanted the army dead before he hit the base. Which tbh is fair given this game really shows that 3,3 stalkers are actually pretty good against BC in mass.

All the ending game of four different matchups GSL ST 2 2021 today gave us such exciting results especially Game 3: SoS vs TY and Game 5 : Zoun vs Dark, and Game 4 Rogue vs Solar. Rogue portrayed how to fake roaches build (luckily Solar fell to it) before teching into mutaliks while Zoun countered heavy roaches/ravagers/infestors build with combination of carriers, collosus, blink stalkers, disruptors, high templars (feedback rather than storm) etc after a failed tempest snipe.

Going for the mining bases was probably a mistake, I think you should try to shut down all infrastructure instead which cuts off reinforcements from the source, especially when your army is stronger and not as mobile. The base hunt just gave sOs plenty of time to spend his bank.

taking out the cybernetics core would have put sOs in a real bind. Not sure if he made a backup early on but without constant stalker reinforcements, he is toast to those BCs

I think either going for the mining bases or the infrastructure were both winning calls, thing is he went for the base hunt and lost a lot of time by following the stalkers around and not splitting a little bit his army for scouting pourposes till the end, there were at least 2 protoss bases that were unattacked for more than 10 minutes once they started the brawl where TY didnt have bases but a big army

All TY had to do was to destroy protoss infrastructure, even if he didn't see the mining bases he knew he could destroy gates and pylons to make the cost of rebuilding that much higher Even near the end he could've taken the top right base and used the BCs as static defense just to repair BCs, he threw it so hard

near the end he did repair those bcs and if you mean take that base and mine well he could not , he did not have supply and could not build workers ,actually he should have never tried to halt the game and repair because protoss was mining and growing unlike him ,he should have only fought to death at that point but about first part you are right ,he should have gone for his bases earlier instead of engaging stalkers and being tricked every time

TY could never fly his BC around the map in low numbers because blink stalkers can snipe those before they jump out. Also he could not leave his bases unattended, because SoS could run stalkers or DTs in to kill it. SoS had vision of most of the important things of TY all the time while TY saw almost nothing on the map. On top of that, using a single base with no workers (pretending like he could even build workers) while protoss has several bases left and can just mine with 20+ workers is just suicide. By the time TY had built a factory, SoS would've shown up with 30 stalkers or 10 voids.

SPOILERS: Why on earth is TY running after the stalkers when he clearly had the advantage? He could just take down all the mining bases and win the game. He was just playing cat and mouse vs the stalkers allowing sOs to build voidrays and more stalkers...

i think its always important to remember they dont have all the info we do. Maybe he thought SoS wasnt mining that much, maybe he didn't want to risk his base getting backdoored when the BCs went in, etc but to be honest, i thought the same thing!

Reasons: - TY didn’t see all mining bases - Toss can recall - toss attacked by using vois, DTs, stalkers - There are canons & shield batteries - BCs are not that strong.

@@nguyenthiphuonganh How about Yamato down the bases and buildings and teleport away? With the amount of BCs, he could take down buildings in secs. In the long run, the cost efficiency of BCs can pay off if he continuously took down the production and eco.

​@@nguyenthiphuonganh He can also build the banshees earlier instead of too many BCs. BCs are good units but not good if you only have them. Even protoss can't win with only Carriers. Skytoss is strong because of the combination of voidrays, HTs, archons and carriers. Btw, in fact, BC has more DPS (49.8 (+6.2)) than carriers (37.4 (+7.5) (w/ 8 Interceptors), and will not decay with interceptor amount. The cost is lower as well (400m 300g vs 470m 250g (8 interceptors)) and the building time is the same as Carriers, although you can boost the speed as protoss. Bc also has more hit points and armor. Further considering the abilities to fire Yamato and teleport, BC is a "super" good unit on spec. The only disadvantage is the building time and the attack range.

Also, I’m kinda glad that SOS didn’t go for full SkyToss tempests & carriers. Yes they hit hard but they are so slow & expensive. Not to mention when the big fight starts they will probably get mass Yamato by the BC fleet, while stalkers can always jump away Yamatos.

Loved the commentary here. Artosis’ view vs Tasteless’ view of who is winning was very interesting to hear. As a Protoss player myself who has to deal with mass BCs a lot, I really agreed with Tasteless over Artosis (with how endless stalkers can be made on a superior economy to win), but as time went on, I saw that Artosis was not necessarily wrong either about the efficient BCs. Ultimately, the extreme closeness of the game and how both of the players had a chance of winning till the very end just goes to show how BOTH of the casters were right in a sense, making for a spectacular game with insightful commentary. Absolutely love it! 😊

Wrong, SoS made the right move, if those BCs went down too Terran can just rebuild back to full health. This means to repair must use base resource, which means less blinks for Battle cruisers.
