There is correction. Entebbe airport wasn't built by Israelis. They got the aerial shots for planning by a mosad agent who flew in from Nairobi, took the aerial shots and landed for fuel in Entebbe to have a closer look at the Airport. I live in Entebbe and work in the Airport. The Air France plane is still here.

The greatest commando operation was the St Nazaire raid by British commandos by destroying the drydock at St Nazaire in Nazi occupied France thus destroying a safe base for operation and maintenance of battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz on the Atlantic coast. This forced the Kreigsmarine to operate the capital ships from German coast alone where they can be easily tracked by Royal Navy intelligence because of lack of access to open sea. Hitler was forced to hide Tirpitz in the fjords of Norway throughout the war. If St Nazaire was there German battleships can easily attack Atlantic convoys , comeback safely, refuel, rearam and repaired without going back to German waters which is dangerous because they cannot do it without escaping from the eyes of British home fleet.
