Great video. Many years ago, I also climbed Scafell Pyke having started at Boot, in Eskdale, while carrying all my wild camp gear. I had planned to camp on the way back but was simply too tired to stop and pitch the tent. I arrived back at Boot knackered. I had just been a bit stupid really and wanted to get to the top, even though I was pretty tired already. Everything worked out fine in the end, but it could have caused a lot of bother. When I got home and told my wife she was furious. I'll be backpacking again next year after several years break, but now I know my limits. 62 year old legs are not as good as they were 30 years ago. Regards !

Hi Brian, thanks mate. Yes unfortunately I dont know my limits yet lol. Still pushing those boundaries try to get to even more spectacular locations. Good luck getting back into it, and most of all have fun 🙂👍

Quality Shaun, that pitch was a beaut. Tale of two days weather wise, shows how easy people can get caught out.

Came over the GOTV FB page. Scafell to Sprinkling Tarn is actually pretty easy and quite fun, especially after looking at the route you took (although probably more fun with fresh legs). I did the Great Gable to Scafell Pike route (opposite of what you did almost) in July 2020 as one of my first YT videos (terrible quality that has since got better, I hope). It was beautiful but insanely busy as it was the weekend out of lockdown.

A good old walk and wild camp there, that’s one of my favourite routes. That gully I believe was the lords rake (up to sca fell) me and Keith did that years ago with backpacks and in red hot conditions and it was really hard going with camping gear. But well worth the effort, such a stunning short cut. Those meals are one up from a pot noodle ! 😉 Enjoyed your video.

Shaun_Explores That’s exactly the conclusion we came to that sunny day 😂 There is a really nice memorial cross cut into the rock near the entrance to look out for if you ever return. Dedicated to some climbers that had fallen from the rocks above, all very interesting.

The mountain at 1min in is Kirk Fell. Beast of a mountain and a very tough climb. Well worth it though once you eventually reach the top. You won’t find many (if any) people climbing it either unlike Scafell Pike.

Nice 1 mate another stripe earn't for getting to the top of that! I haven't been able to stomach any of the dehydrated meals. There are cheaper options available I recommend you check out the 'look what we found' range you can get them in Waitrose or soulbia.com there only a couple of quid and are banging pair it with a rice pouch as well. They weigh more but on the plus side you don't need to carry water for them so equals out. You can also boil them in the bag and then use the water for hot drink 👍

@@Twin_Peaks_Outdoors Firstly why would you make unrelated negative comments on a decent channel, clearly no respect for quality You Tubers!! secondly I am now convinced that educating somebody as stupid as you can only be achieved with paper and crayons however I will try my best to penetrate your impoverished mind once more. I have an issue with idiots such as you thinking it is acceptable to start fires in a National Park and then trying to defend your ridiculous behavior! Clearly I have had a profound effect on you which is great news as your childish rant here is clear you have an extremely low IQ hence why I tried in vain to educate you, please note I haven't used any upper case to vent any anger as I am not an angry person unlike you! Regarding you comments around not liking Cardiff people I am married to a Cardiff girl and have many friends who live there, I also spend a huge amount of time in the Brecon Beacons wild camping and have done for over 20yrs and will not stand by and let idiots such as you vandalize it by starting fires. What you should have done from the get go was be a "grown up" and accept your misgivings but no you had to then try and defend your pathetic actions with childish responses and as previously mentioned you brought it on yourself but unfortunately you just don't learn hence your failing channel!
