We went to Stockley Bridge near Seathwaite Farm to pay our respects to Helen's wonderful mother.
We ended up hiking Scafell Pike via the corridor route. We loved it but were suffering for days after!!

Enjoyed the walk guys thanks, beautiful views. Helen has some stamina hardly out of puff unlike some😮‍💨, probably give a mountain goat a damn good race. G'day to you both, Enjoyed the video. Over here in NZ, it's the custom to put another stone on the cairn as you pass. This helps to maintain the cairn, the strong winds, snow and ice, can dislodge them. ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺

I've read before that gill means small narrow ravine in old Norse/Viking (ending of my name used to be wrote as gill not gle), and that Ruddy Gill was a perfect example of it, with the stream in a narrow ravine. A lot of the Lake District names are old norse, other ones in your video - Scafell, fell comes from Fjell for hill/mountain and Seathwaite, thwaite means a clearing/meadow.

James. Have you been checked out at the Doctors? I am the same build as you and was always able to climb these peaks relatively easily. Until a couple of years ago when I was out of breath on the slightest hill. Your breathing is very similar to mine when walking up hills. Turns out I had Atrial Fibrillation...irregular heart beat. Worth getting checked out. You can do it via any Blood Pressure Monitor that has an A-Fib function. A-Fib is surprisingly common. Many people don't know they have it.

Downhill is a knee killer, and I’m pretty young and fit. Stick ls can take nearly 50% pressure off the knees. Ben Nevis hurt the last mile descent for me. You just can’t train for the downhill stuff. Been up scafell, met 2 Scot’s guys in shorts, was raining and thick mist. 3 Scot’s were the highest people in England at that time 😂 Snowden next month, then that’s the 3 day done 👍🏻

Aww bless you , come on you can do it , just be careful if you got hurt any of you what would you do for help you could freeze , a tip for you , save all your foil crisp packets take them with you on long hikes , oh matches to , take a tin bowl or flat stone, once you burn one then top up they will burn for a good 10 mins or more and give off good heat , try it out it will last quite awhile , please try it will be a quick warm up so save them crisps bags , my aunt and uncle always say save us your crisp bags , and they don't weigh alot or take up room in your bag but remember you lighter or matches try it if you haven't it's a good tip to pass on , impress Helen you'll be surprised how long a crisp bag burn for and the heat but the first one burns quick so diet down the pan to get crisp bags don't raid bins ha ha , but get everybody you know to save foil crisp bags , let me know what you think , well start of another week weather awful here awful in salterforth / barnoldswick , what's plans this week , take care , I work at a pub in salterforth called anchor , nice pub canal at side and you can camp in carpark or on canal carpark, that would be good to cover canal walks , take care keep vlogs going , love to you and Helen and family , keep smiling a moan now and then but most of all be there for each other X👍😘🦋bye for now 😁
