Scale Drivers for RC Trucks

I never posted this video before, but someone asked me how I got my drivers to fit into my JK interior so I went through and fount this old video I forgot I had made, and I posted it to show him some of the details.

I agree that the figures are a must. For me, I absolutely HAVE to go a step further and add a servo to make the steering wheel move along with the front wheels and then I attach the driver's hands to the steering wheel. All of my crawlers have the mod. Right now I'm working on a figure that will not only steer, but will also turn his head and lean out to look down at the ground/obstacles on a third channel. Hopefully, it will work out! : )

I do the same as Dan, except at I:I2 scale I use 5 inch figures; like Dan´s, mine are sold as promotional merchandise for TV shows such as Primeval, Torchwood, Dr. Who and I even have a guy from The Grateful Dead driving my Slash rat rod. I think it does make a huge difference to scale credibility to have at least a driver and possibly some passengers in the vehicle.

I've tried the rubber skateboarding dudes and the rubber started to break down and crack after a short time. Not the best quality. The NECA figures are way better quality.

glad I found your video... I have a collection of 14 scale cars and feel the same, I hate seeing a car driving around with no driver. however, it's a real challenge finding everyday figures (non-movie) characters. could you suggest where I might look to fi d 14 scale figures?

For my 1:10 (and 1:12) scale RC vehicles, I am using a new ultra-realistic figure from VERYCOOL called "Villa". This action figure has realistic facial features including simulated hair, multi-point articulation, proper fitting clothing and nice accessories (such as a backpack). Of course the price is significantly more than a basic plastic-moulded action figure but if you have an expensive scale crawler or scale garage set-up, then it deserves a figure with proper scale realism. I think the arms are too stiff as is. Maybe if you remove the arms and make the pivots looser then reinstall the arms it could work.
