As it's been raining since I got my excavator I though I'd do something useful with my time and build a set of grizzly bars.
This took about 20 mins planning one night, then i filmed the construction the following night.
I used 15 mm chipboard / OBS board , and had it cut to 300mm width and you will need about 750+- mm length. If you using my spacing you will need 4 x 1m metal rods ( shouldn't make much difference what metal really ) cut into 500 +- mm lengths ( or 8 x 500mm rods whatever you can get you hands on ). All the materials cost me less then £20.
Feel free to give it a go yourself and make any changes to the sizes that you like. Looking at it now its made, i might lower the top support and make it wider, 500mm might be a bit tall. I might try at a height of about 330-350 mm, but its still at the testing stage for now , and we'll have to see how well it performs.
This screens out rocks that are about 25mm size
* Alter the length of rods to the height you building to if you changing the sizes
** After a test run i would shorten the top , then make the top the bottom. Going from the test with the excavator in the video it works better that way round , but i wasn't really on a pad so that may make a difference?
