I climbed this in 2004, 20yrs ago and froze 3/4 of the way up. 2 friends were on the ground , don't think realised what happened to me. Had a chat with myself and managed to get to the top and had no problem climbing down with tye buzz that I had from getting to the top & seeing the views. Great memories ❤

Gets pretty sketchy when your vision becomes slightly impaired and when you get about 2/3's up and there is a few pegs that are a little wobbly and loose.

I used to climb trees back in the day when I cut timber but never this high. I give it to you man. It takes a lot especially with no harness or buck straps. And no gloves. I always had to wear gloves because my hands was always sweating. I’ve climbed 100’ trees to cut the tops out so I could imagine climbing this. I’m glad I gave that job up.

I climbed the tallest lookout tree Western Australia in the late nineties when the top lookout was a wooden hut with a hatch you climbed through my family where Watching me from the base when I got into the hut I waved to my family and the heard someone cough, and turned around and there was a young man sitting on the bench I said hello, he replied in broken English, I can’t get down I have been here for a long time my girlfriend she waits for me, so after talking for a bit I said I would help him down I went first and guided his feet on to the rungs he was shaking like leaf I just kept talking to him, his girlfriend must have gone for help When eventually got down he just jumped off the last two rungs and ran never saw him again, my family where looking on in bewilderment

Exactly how I remember it in the vault of my memory as a young man, I climbed it with my redneck amalgamation of a family featuring my dad and 2 sisters, my stepmother and her daughter, It was a windy day and my sisters were being overly dramatic about it, we got to the top and it was swaying 3 feet in either direction, I was crazier then and didn't realize how little my dad and I were taking it seriously, my step sister slipped and fell right on my right shoulder ass first and fucked it to this day, once we managed to get down a large group of tourists applauded like we had mounted Everest or something, embarrassing as all hell but a memory, Thanks for the vid, bud :)

Surprisingly enough getting down isn't that hard. I was just fearing coming across another climber abruptly and passing out and then falling. Not necessarily the heights in general. The only real scary thing other than that is the fear of misplacing a foot or hand as my vision became impaired.

Sad thing is they would never allow something like this in the US. Anything that could possibly hurt you or even kill you is pretty much prevented because of law suits. You can literally jump off a sky rise here and then sue the business because you was able to do it. Ya it’s that bad. I wish they allowed things like this here.
@gamblore51482 жыл бұрын
To be completely honest I'm amazed it's still open to the public! I say climb it while you can people because one day they will surely shut it.

When I read the title I thought it would just be a guy climbing a tree but this is cheating. That doesn’t count as climbing a tree in my book. That’s just a tall ladder. Where I live there are 100 foot fir trees that I climb frequently and there are no modifications whatsoever.

The world's tallest climbing tree? Who gave it that moniker? There are people all over the world climbing taller trees, sans bars that make it much easier and are akin to climbing a ladder
@gamblore51483 жыл бұрын
I'm sure there are people who have climbed taller trees at other times and in other places, although I should point out that Karris are one of the tallest species of trees in the world and you would have to try reasonably hard to find a bigger tree to climb. I don't however believe there is anywhere else in the world where a random member of the public can rock up and climb their way to the top of a 75m tree. And yes, it is basically a very tall ladder. It's still a lot of fun though!
@BakedPotato77552 жыл бұрын
