Have you tried google translate?
@PammellamАй бұрын
Try a different browser. Chrome, for example, has an automatic translate function. When you access his web page, it should translate it automatically. When you open a page in a different language from your language that is set on your computer, Chrome will translate it. Of course, these automated translations can be imperfect but with a cooking web site, it should be fairly standard.

A tip in addition to the info shared by Hanbit: If you want to switch from round to square, you can generally use a rule of one size bigger for round. So if you have a 6-inch round pan and you want to make a square cake, use a 5-inch square.

hahdh boy am I glad you originally started in mathematics! hahhahahahha I've literally asked an accountant friend of mine how to go about doing this properly, and he was mostly right. now, I get the shapes..... how do you determine how much to fill if you've got a recipe, and a frame that is rectangular to fill with ganache, vs I am using shelled bon bons, and I need to make more (or less) sets. I usually end up averaging it, but I wish it was more precise, to cut down on either wastage, or not making enough and having to do it all over again. I am Canadian, so am thankful that pastry school mostly uses the metric system :) It makes so much more sense and is so much more accurate.

Thank you so much, Hanbit, for this explanation video! It does help! But still I'd like to ask another question: why is there such a hype about micro cakes? I mean, why all this work for a 15 cm diameter cake that is eaten in no time at all? If I make a cake, if I do all the work of mixing and creating and baking and decorating, I'd like to last this cake at least for 2 or 3 days, or I like it to feed 10 to 12 people when I have guests around. Can you see what I mean? Is there a special reason for making micro cakes, or is it just for displaying the process of making it on youtube, and nobody cares who or how many persons eat it afterwards?
@HanbitCho3 жыл бұрын
hmm micro cakes..haven't really seen much about micro cakes so not sure!

@@HanbitCho Micro cakes like the ones you make... with 15 cm in diameter. This is micro to me, compared to regular sized cakes of 26 to 28 cm in diameter.
@fanniel64492 жыл бұрын
I agree 100% with you Marlis, I have the same preconceptions too! A (decorated or not) cake should at least lasts for 2-3 days and/or feeds 10-12 people in one go, which is always the case for homemade ones. However, more people are buying their cakes from stores, which probably have been holding the cake for a day or more. Thus any leftover from these (storebought) cakes are drier than homemade ones, and not as tasty anymore. I would say this is why microcake (small to 15cm cakes) comes along. It is to allow people to enjoy cake at its prime. I would say if they want a bigger cake they would then order a custom size.

@HanbitCho4 ай бұрын
hello!
@PammellamАй бұрын
Hi. I’m going to show all the calculations so you can do it with other measurements. You have increased the flour by 50%. So I think everything else needs to be increased by 50% From 2 cups of flour to 3 cups. That’s 2 X 1.5 = 3 cups of flour The other amounts are complicated but not impossible. Milk Milk is a little complicated so stay with me while I explain it. 1-1/4 cups becomes 1.25 x 1.5 =1.875 Convert the milk to cc measurements to make it easier. I US cup is 240cc, so 1-1/4 cups in your original recipe is 300cc. 300cc x 1.5 = 450cc 450cc is about 1.9 US cups, just under 2 US cups. If you have a measuring cup that also shows the cc amount, just measure out 450 cc worth and you’re done, you’re golden. But if you just have US type measuring cups with no cc notations, then do this: To put it back into US cup measurements: 240 is 1 cup, then 450 - 240=210. 210 is 30cc less than a full US CUP. 1T is 15cc so if you remove 2 tablespoons from a full US cup you will get 210cc. If you just have a normal US measuring cup with _NO_ cc notations, you can do this: In separate bowl, you add 2 US Cups of milk, but remove 2 Tablespoons, then you have the 450cc. Baking powder 1T x 1.5 = 1.5T Salt 1/4t =0.25t x 1.5= 1/4t plus 1/8t So, the salt is 1/4t and then use another measuring spoon at 1/8t. So it looks like this: Flour = 3 US Cups Milk = 1.9 US Cups Baking powder = 1.5 T Salt = 1/4t plus 1/8t
