Scallop flipping over!

Scallops swim! This video shows a live scallop flipping over. Scallops have a white side and a brown side. The brown side is usually up so they can blend in with the sand beneath them. If they are put down with the white side up, they will flip themselves over! When the scallop is out of the water you can see glowing blue dots inside its shell. Those are actually its eyes!
In the background there are some white sea urchins. They have put shells on top of themselves for protection from the sun. These white sea urchins can get sun burned and die!

I found a scallop when I was young. Thought it was a seashell and i picked it up, never knew scallops were a thing. This thing started clapping around in my palm and I freaked out. And when I looked at it, it had its shells widened a lil with a hundreds of black dots staring back at me. Haha I'm trypophobic so I instantly yeeted that shit back into the ocean 😂😭

Sorry to be a smartass, but bivalves don't have eyes. They are little more than muscles (for digging and flipping over ;)), gills and a digestive system inside a shell. Very demonstrative video anyway.

bittertongue96 Most were too deep in my foot so I had to get dry ice applied which hurt a lot, 2 tetanus shots, and had to wait in Venice Hospital for 6 hours, couldn't walk for most of the trip and could only walk a week before we left. To this day I still have about five in my foot, they slowly go away since they are made from the same material as egg shells.
