SCAMMED! Fake GE Filters - DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!

HP and other popular brands used to do that "chip" BS with Ink Cartridges! and of course charge 10 times more for "their" product. Total scam on their part! Their INK wasn't any better than the off brand replacements at tons less cost!

@@richrose1 I use off-brand ink carts for my Canon printer. They work great after bypassing the chip check. However, they have their own branding and don't pretend to be OEM parts. There's a huge difference between a company offering an aftermarket part for a product and a company that pretends to offer OEM parts while selling aftermarket parts with a bogus OEM label.

Just add whole house and drinking water filtration to your water supply line(s) to avoid all high priced refrigeration filters - and just remove the latter. The 10 " x 2.5" one to five micron taste/odor charcoal filters cost less than $10 each and will outlast any refrigerator filter and can filter all your drinking water.

Yup! Same with Salon Products & tools. Buyer beware. Get it from your Stylist! They know what’s best for your hair and what’s been put on it. This will save your hair & you money in the long run. Shop in person for best results & no scams or as Richard says a reputable Company. Sad that so many scams & thefts happen online. Thanks for the heads up on the GE fridge. I miss the days of repair men. We’ve got a Kitchen Aid Timeless Black Fridge..cost us $15 to repair once back in 1996. Still works like a charm. It was lot’s of $ to buy back then from the local appliance store but worth every penny! Still has the best water/ice system ever. 💦

FYI I did research on my refrigerator water filter. There is a reason for the higher price for the manufacturer version. Its not the same as the HP ink scam. The filtering level is much higher than the 3rd party replacements. I.e. the home depot brand only filters for taste and bacteria the manufacturer's more expensive filter filters for virus sized particals and many chemical and pharmaceutical contamination. You can look up the certification and difference because all water filters are indepident lab tested by the NSF and the results are on their web page. I could not find a single 3rd party filter with the same level of filtering as at mfgr.

I should have the choice whether I wand just a carbon filter or a weapons grade biological filter. I will not buy from companies that lock you in to their filters.

@@steveo4749 I could agree with that, a very clear explanation of why the manufacturer filter is better should be all it takes. Mine is not chipped. Even though I buy the official filter for the pharmaceutical filtering I'd be pissed if they locked me in with a chip. I think many people who think they are saving money would be shocked to find out what the non weapons grade filters are not filtering.

@@steveo4749 from what I have read, GE does offer a workaround to bypass the filter. Not ideal and you have to contact them to get the adapter.

I recently got scammed on a Ken more water filter. Looks exactly the same but when trying to install it would not click in. When I examined the filter closely the top did not have the required groves to fit in.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. My wife got scammed with fake eye ointment from a third party Amazon seller. Unfortunately, too much time passed for Amazon to rectify. I got scammed from purchasing a handle set from a fake web site. Luckily, I paid by credit card and was made whole.
