Thanks for showing all the upgrades you've been working on! We've got a 2001 Scamp and are looking at doing a lot of these same upgrades. Psyched to see what other changes you've made!

Great job!! Where can I buy the little tabs that you made for attaching bottom of blinds. I think you said they were out of stock at the time of video. THANKS for all the good videos.

Thanks! You should be able to call scamp directly and ask them to sell them to you. It’s not on the website as far as I know.

Do you (1:29 ) show how you braced pantry shelves?
@shaunwilkens Жыл бұрын
I didn’t show it. The previous owner had screwed in from the outside of the cabinet into support strips of wood that the shelves rest on.

Hi- looks great! Curious if you’ve considered removing the carpet from the walls? If so, how will you do it, or if not, why not? Thanks!
@shaunwilkens Жыл бұрын
I though about it but I decided to clean the walls instead with Woolite. If I would have removed the carpet, I would have needed to buy new material to cover the walls with and it didn’t seem to be worth the work.

Would there be a way to hinge the smaller piece to the table so you could open it and lock it for 4 people? :)

Yeah, I bet that would work!

Shaun, you did a very good job with this Scamp! It was fun to watch your videos! Especially since I am the new owner of this Scamp! I have used it once and it was great! We have many trips scheduled the rest of this summer! Did you remove one of the batteries? I noticed in the a previous video you had 2 100Amh batteries, did you remove one? Maybe I missed a video :) Thanks!
@shaunwilkens Жыл бұрын
Hey @tjhagan1350 ! Did I understand that correctly that you purchased this exact scamp? One of the batteries had an issue after making the older video so I had to get rid of one of the batteries before putting it up for sale. I also felt the area was a bit tighter than I would have liked for the two battery setup. If you’re interested in adding a battery, I’d be happy to provide some input. Thanks!
@tjhagan1350 Жыл бұрын
Hey @@shaunwilkens, Thanks for the reply! Yes, your understanding is correct. I haven't had the opportunity yet to get off grid enough to know if another battery is needed. We will have a big test the 2nd week of August as my wife and I will be out about a week. We can't wait. Have you used the rear hitch on the Scamp? If so, did it cause swaying? I bought a cargo carrier and I am hoping that it will not be too much weight. If I have any issues, I will get back with you.

Where did you get the bamboo wood for the cabinet doors?
@shaunwilkens2 жыл бұрын
@Darrell Rackley I got it from a local lumbar distributor. I would recommend going to Plyboo.com and finding a dealer in your area.

Shaun, what do you think about the EcoFlow Wave A/C battery unit do you think it could cool of a Scamp. Im thinking desert travel.
@shaunwilkens2 жыл бұрын
@Gab It looks like a decently good portable AC. I like eco flow products in general. It could definitely cool down a scamp. The issues with scamps is they aren’t insulated really well so you would need to constantly run the unit to keep things cool on a hot day. If you have access to shore power this wouldn’t be a problem. You’d also want to think about where you would set it up. I believe It needs to have the large intake and vent hoses going to the exterior of the scamp. Could get a little crowded.

Hi from Australia 👋🏼 I have an Australian made fibreglass caravan with no screen door. I see you have a bifold screen door on your Scamp, did you buy that or make it yourself? I am very interested in that. I wish you’d mentioned it in your video 😅 cheers
@shaunwilkens Жыл бұрын
Scamp made the screen door in this one.

Love your videos Shaun, especially the Scamp series! Any chance you have a link for the bamboo plywood?
@shaunwilkens2 жыл бұрын
Thanks @Ethan DeGroot ! I got the bamboo from a local lumber company. You can find it online too but I imagine the shipping costs would make it much more expensive. Contact local lumber companies and ask if they have carbonized bamboo plywood. I used one 1/2” 4’x8’ sheet.

I hate my curtains, thx! How much light comes in those blinds at night?
@shaunwilkens Жыл бұрын
They aren’t blockout curtains but that do a good job. If you were right under a street light it would be fairly bright

Found a feature on-line about airstream no longer using wood for flooring. Look for: Wood banished from Airstream Floors. Transcore is a composite material now being used in one piece. Subscribed.
