Dawn Morse of Core Elements Training and Katie Campbell demonstrate Scapula Release Sports Massage Technique.
Scapula Release is an excellent technique for reducing muscular tension around the upper back and shoulder area and restoring range of motion and tissue health following warm up massage techniques, such as effleurage and petrissage.
This is an example of the techniques covered in Core Elements accredited, Level 4 #Sports #Massage Diploma, which is available as a face to face, and bended learning course, at the Swindon, Wiltshire (UK) based training centre.
Core Elements Training delivers a range of accredited Sports Massage and Sports Therapy based qualifications and short courses.
*All courses are available as face to face delivery at our training centre in Swindon, Wiltshire and a selection of CPD courses are available as Live Online delivery, such as #Dry #Cupping and #Kinesiology #Taping, and some courses are available fully online, such as #Clinical #Yoga and The Science of Stretching and Dry Cupping Therapy.

This is lovely. Do you recommend any trigger work/friction work of lat dorsi, or attachments at inferior angle? Often, the scapula can be raised at the inferior angle. Also, in the case of swimmers for example, their shoulders are very winged for their sport. Would you suggest somehow relaxing another part of the shoulder instead, say the superior angle? Thank you both sincerely.

Hi Nia, Yes if the scapular is elevated at the superior angle and there is tension around this area also palpate for the lay dorsi and Teres trigger points as both or one may be holding tension 👍. Hope this helps and kind regards

P.S. I see some therapists going quite hard re friction work and for long periods of time, across the area/around area of issue. Is this wise? Or a simple pressure and hold on a TrP is enough?
@CoreElementsTraining
@CoreElementsTraining Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the amount of tension and client muscle tone. You need to adjust pressure based on feedback from the muscle and the client.

What if patient is having pacemaker at age of 80 and having muscular neck pain! Prone position should be avoided now what will be done? Pls reply?
@CoreElementsTraining
@CoreElementsTraining 3 ай бұрын
Yes in your example provided, this wouldn’t be an appropriate technique. Use alternative techniques in supine position to ease neck tension.
