I love how his origin and story were written here, more than the official ones in the comics, he's written as creepy, evil, along with being intelligent which is his character. It also brings into the common question if it would have been better if Batman never existed, as the Scarecrow was created with the inspiration of the Batman.

In the late 30s and through the 40s there was a series of strange gas attacks by a serial gasser known as the mad gasser of matoon, I could see similarities between that and scarecrow even if its a coincidence, but the timeline similarities are spooky. Their masks are even similar!

I got to be the 100th like 😁 Anyways, being born in October- this character always gets me nostalgic for my birthday and Halloween. Johnathan is such a interesting character. Scarecrow is one of those threads that ties to Batman and Arkham and other inmates. His intimacy with Arkham Asylum also gave him a perverse and unknowing tie to the Bruce Wayne persona because of how the asylum not only intimately linked Batman’s Rogues Gallery but ties to Martha Wayne and her family, the actual Arkham. In every incarnation Crane is the ghoul that haunts Arkham in way, and he spiritually stitches so much of the Gotham lore together. Fitting, given the mask he sports. As for ‘1919- I would love to truly know what Joker thought of Scarecrow and if it triggered memories of a different time for him, one under his own red gas mask maybe. And if gassed... would Joker see anything? Or like his comic book counterpart would he be immune to it... maybe due to his chemical bath or maybe from a life as both a soldier and a psychopath; he truly no longer feared anything. Either way well done on this video. I am geeked to see the Shadow War play out. But I will forever love Crane and how he both mentally unhinged Gotham and still stitched the more gruesome parts together

I’d been waiting for this one ever since the Arkham Asylum bio a while back. And now that I’m ready to comment, I gotta say I’m fairly happy with the results. Not many notes, just that I’ve never really liked the idea that Scarecrow is “just evil”. A person can be mentally unstable as well as evil, they aren’t exclusive. Still, given how comics have treated mental health and that Scarecrow has done some pretty messed up stuff… I suppose I can live with that diagnosis. I just prefer him when he can actually hang out with the others in the Arkham crowd. Anyway, aside from that, not many notes. If I were Hugo Strange, I’d be very concerned with my well-being. I’d probably take a nice vacation… to Myanmar, or somewhere equally distant from the U.S. So Batman sees everyone he’s familiar with, including himself, murdering his family? That’s concerning. If I were him, I’d build up a new family with relationships, perhaps in preparation for some kind of shaded war… wait a minute… I liked the voice acting for Scarecrow in those old recordings. Sounds perfectly scientific and yet dramatically sinister. And Batman is doing detective work. That’s cool. Glad to see stuff being done with that concept. So a great take on Scarecrow, he feels spot-on, and I’m curious as to what role he’ll play in the upcoming Shadow War. Hopefully, unlike a certain overall excellent movie except for how it wastes Scarecrow, he won’t just be a patsy for an Irish guy playing an Egyptian man. Excited for the next few ones as we learn about the Batfamily and the League itself, and then finally, the Shadow War.

I like how they devolved crane and strange in this story to fit the mind set of doctors during this time. Crane represents how people did start wanting to some good for people with mental health issues but when put under the wrong environment they could devolve into cruelty and callousness after all the road to hell is often paved with good intentions. Hugo represents sadism and unchecked power that doctors had and how they would allow others to suffer by trying to create miracle cures.

You tell yourself that you are nothing like us. You tell yourself that you are something more, something better.. But fear reveals the truth… It erodes your self confidence, and your sense of control. Soon, you will kill.. and become the one thing you hate the most. Soon, your mind will become broken. Fear is the glue that holds society together. It's what makes people suppress their worst impulses.. Fear, is POWER.
