Alesia desperately wanted to help him, but he was so broken and stubborn, that her hopes weren’t high. Until one day, the ice melted. Rudnick’s goody personality finally broke through!

Ohhh thank you for loving him. You are an earth angel. Abandoned, abused, neglected animals just hurt my heart so deeply. Any animal/creature. Horses are the other gentle giant like elephants are. They aren't meant to be work horses either like some think. Look at him, he's so happy now!! Thriving in every way!! Just beautiful😭 Kiss him on his nose for me, the softest kiss there is. I know this SEEMS disconnected, but what trips me out is that you have no idea how many millions of HUMAN guys out there are just like this, and wouldn't get a girl like this to do the same she did for another species, even if her life depended on it. Aeons ago when I was young and living in a country town which was serving the farming community ,the treatment of most animals was in general very much based on what service the various animals provided. Obviously there was affection shared among many animals and humans , but that was something of an extra. Domestic cats and dogs were loved and appreciated of course but cats were put outside for the night and dogs generally were not given absolute freedom of interaction with the family ,and were housed in kennels at night .Now we see who animals really are ,and the affections and care humans extend towards them has increased along with our understanding of them .Your extremely heart warming story contributes to our understanding and love for animals,so I thank you for that.❤

My Bootman came to me as a scared 3 year old Arab. Who was deemed dangerous and unridable. He was going to be shot, but we bonded almost immediately. Within 6 months I was riding him with no problems. He could still be funny around certain people but overall he loving, trusting and respectful. He is now across the rainbow bridge but I remember all of the 20 years that we had together. I love you Bootman, always and forever xxx

Great you were able to build the bond. Many years ago, a friend i worked with had a 16 hand Paint. She was jittery at everything. The flag on the pole would pop in the wind, or birds flying and she would freak out. Only the owner could ride her. She asked me if i could see if i could break her of some of her "bad habits". It took time, a lot of time. Would take her out to the paddock and just sit there with her...she was a beautiful horse. She became accustomed to my ritual of coming after work every day. After months of me coming by and working with her, letting her be "a horse"...she would listen for me coming into the barn. When she was out in the paddock, she would jump around and get excited and happy to see my truck roll down the driveway. My friends mom would record our interactions ( which at first i didn't know). It was a labor of love, time and building trust. It took months of work to build her trust and get rid of her "bad habits". First time i rode her ( she and her family were nervous) they expected her to buck me off, injure me or just take off. She was so calm when i saddled her up..took her for a walk at first...just to get used to the saddle. After a couple of weeks, i was able to get on her and take her out in the paddock, then out to the field...then on to the horse trail ...she didn't get spooked at all..i always reassured her, on every ride. Even the farrier couldn't believe it was the same horse. The vet was astonished of the progress with her. After so long with her ( spent two years working with her) my friend was offered money for her ( at the time if i remember correctly, around $6-$7k for her) i was heart broken but understood. Her and her family invited me up to the house, which i thought it was a going away party for her ( the Paint). I was hesitant but went anyway. There were many of her friends and family there at the barn party. After a few hours, i was presented with her...the family told me they knew how much i had worked with her and came to a decision to give me her. They walked her into the barn...not even on lead...she saw me, ears went up, walked over to me and gave me a nudge. She was such a great horse. It was a incredible gift and was so honored to have her. The family told me, after my hard work and dedication, with the care and love i had shown, they came to the decision to give me her. Ill never forget it. Its definitely a lasting memory.
