And yet, at the end of the movie, Tony's only good deed (not blowing up the kids) was the one thing that actually killed him.... 19:00 Frank was actually right in a way. I'm not talking from experience, but from what I've seen on crime dramas about drug dealers; if you stay low key, under the radar, you'll last a lot longer than someone who goes out all flashy. Another movie that references that exact point is Goodfellas. Specifically that scene right after the Lufthansa heist. A lot of guys were buying flashy expensive stuff with the stolen money right after they committed the heist. Jimmy strongly advised them not to. He even got pissed off at them and made them return the stuff they just bought. Frank's third rules should have been "Never be flashy and you'll survive this business longer."

I know at least one of you guys has seen Breaking Bad so did you recognize Manny(Tony's best friend) or Alberto(the hit man who was gonna blow the kids up)? Manny was played by Steven Bauer who would later play Don Eladio and Alberto was played by Mark Magolis who played none other than Hector Salamanca! It's okay if you didn't recognize them, Walt is shown watching this movie at one point in the show and he didn't either 🤣

Vince G also said he was a fan of Wire and a lot of the characters were traits were in the BB as well. The most obvious and copied was Gus who was modeled after Brother Muzone.

Tony was basically a loser. A great movie, but a loser character. The one quote from another movie (SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE MOVIE FROM DUSK TILL DAWN). that fits so well in this one is when Jacob told Seth, "are you so much a f***ing loser, you can't tell when you've won?"

Dudes....this was THE movie to see of '83. (this one and a very young Tom Cruise in "Risky Business") This picture added new phrases to the American lexicon, just like "The Godfather" in 1973 did. Magnificent pick. Your reactions to it.....priceless. Thanks guys for this little reminder of one of my yesterdays. I think it is wicked cool how ya are discovering our films. Big shoutout from this old, longhaired hippy dude in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. peace and love y'all. Be seeing you on the next.

During the opening scene where they show to cubans go on the boat during that time, my father was part of that group. the woman who plays Tony's mother is a famous puerto rican actress. not only was the soundtrack used in GTA 3 but the guy who plays Frank Lopez also played as a bent cop in GTA 3 they killed of F.Murray Abraham in this film so he can work on the movie Amadeus. and won the award for his role as Salieri
