Tony Montana was no political Asylum seeker , he was expelled from Cuba because he was already a scumbag , hardened Criminal over there who was in Prison .. Ha! Everytime I watch this scene I'm expecting to see Durning, even though I know it's not him. I mean, IDENTICAL voices.
@MrAmpsycho3 жыл бұрын
@@joeblough261 Guys, it IS Charles Durning. Those lines were clearly ADR. If you'll notice most of the dialogue is spoken off camera. The others were dubbed over. It's not that uncommon when a day player or unknown turns in a lackluster reading. Hell the entire female lead in Krull was dubbed over in ADR.

@@MrAmpsycho I never knew that til i read the behind the scenes info online. The readings must’ve been real bad to dub everyone in this scene! Ha. Why not just have Charles Durning in the scene? I wonder what the real guy sounded like?
@crispinjulius50323 жыл бұрын
@@ghanasoul Because then they’d have to pay Charles Durning, Charles Durning type money to be in the scene. This way, they get a nobody and have real actor dub the lines.

Tony described the Western future perfectly. Being told what to do, how to think everyday. Being monitored and watched continuously. Like sheep.

This re-make of Scarface is one of my favourite movies ever. The film never ages, I lose myself in the whole story just as easily as I did 40 years ago when I first saw it in my teens. The way each and every character evolve and the brilliant direction of Brian De Palma are without equal. Pacinos mastery of a character is eery, he becomes someone else with pure acting ability alone no disguise necessary. He must inspire all his co-stars because all actors graduated 1st class in this film. Michelle Pfeiffer was the hippest coolest gangsters moll ever, she took no shit from anyone, not even from Tony Montana 😂
