I saw your garden on a previous video and it was really looking great!! Even better now. That "intruder alert" is wonderful. It would be SO fun to put a couple of those around the neighborhood from time to time. Move them every night. LOL I really tripped out on the drone footage you had today. THAT was fantastic. Reminded me of the swallows and purple martins I used to see flying low over the ponds cleaning up the mosquitoes . Beautiful. Made me envy those who can fly like that. Thanks again for a great show Russel.. Enjoyed it a lot. All the best to you and City Girl.

Russell you never stop amazing me with your clever projects you create. I to, keep broken things and try and make use of them in another way. I made an outside shower using the pole that extends for a table umbrella and it's weighted base. I got the portable shower off of Amazon and fixed it on the pole, similar to what you did. I have two 5 gallon buckets with lids(Canadian Tire) to fill with water from our hose and let nature warm up the water. The pump is submerged in the bucket one at a time until empty. You recharge the shower using a USB port. Great if your umbrella tilts but not necessary. You can adjust the height for children also by sliding it up and down. I put mine near the garden. If you are worried about privacy you can leave the umbrella on the pole stand and fix shower curtains around it, clipping to the rib ends of the umbrella. I have mine placed in the garden most of the time to keep the mess outside, however we do have an off grid cabin in the woods and I take it there when guests are staying in the cabin. They love it. You should get another one of those alarms and put it near the beaver dam to scare them off. See if they can top that strategy. Always interesting videos to watch on your site. Thank you for sharing. Have Fun! You look great by the way! Keep up with the weight loss and exercise. Not easy to do and you are doing everything right. Congrats!

Good afternoon. I'm finally able to watch your video.And I want to let you know that if you've got that one of the Cucumbers to ripen until they're like almost orange and then take it off the vine. You can slice into it and pick the seeds out and use those ones For planting next year.
@justmare1115 ай бұрын
Gardener here... you're letting your cucumbers actually get too big. Pick them BEFORE the yellow striping starts. They won't have that split in the center, they won't go bitter, and they won't have large seeds. (You're actually lucky the one you cut into was still tasty and had small seeds.) However, if you want to save seeds from one: leave it on the vine and allow it to go completely yellow. The seeds will then be ripe. Make sure you only do that at the end of the season or the plant will think it has done its job (reproducing/making seeds) and will stop producing. When you want to save seeds, cut the cucumber in half, scoop out the seeds and put them in a jar with some water. Let them sit on the counter for a few days fermenting (this is how you get the gel coating off of the seeds) and then strain them, rinse them, and dry them and put them on a plate to dry out completely.

Someone probably already said. And I was pretty sure I was correct, but I googled to make sure. It's an inconsistent watering and/or not good pollination if seeds are absent. I've purchased ones like that, but never had that problem when growing them. Cukes and squash always took over my gardens and those of my family's. They're a healthy food. And actually do have an astringent soothing effect when you place chilled slices on your eyelids. And they make pickles. Ohhhh I love pickles--dill, with no sugar or hardly any. I love to place slices of dill pickle in a sandwich with slices of pepper jack, tomato, lettuce, mustard, a little bit of no sugar mayo (prefer olive oil mayo), and sliced boiled eggs... spices of dill weed, cracked black pepper. It's a treat. I can't eat a lot of sandwiches because of the starch, etc. Added: And not your fault for inconsistent water. It's amazing you two have all that growing despite the water problem (pumps stopping, etc.) I'm happy for you!

I musta laughed out loud one solid minute when you turned that thing on. So funny and so cool! I hope it works for you. I've been worried about the wild animals in your garden. Especially deer. Bear like that stuff, too. Not sure the beavers would wander in that far and what they didn't eat, drag off to the dam as double insult. lol

If your cucumbers are hybrids the seeds may not fully develop and if they do the resulting plants will not necessarily produce proper cucumbers. Great video as always you always produce the greatest drone footage.

Have to love that motion sensor lol. That would scare the crap out of me Gezz , I am going to have to get one. Your garden is doing well awesome size cucumbers very nice. love the drone footage Russel very nice. Inadequate pollination or too much nitrogen can make cucumbers grow to fast on outside so inside cant keep up with the outside growth. awesome video.

just a note the strange middle of your garden cuke is in my experience I pick them a bit smaller than what you have, and it does not have that inside space like what you experienced so possibly pick a littler smaller cuke as they age, they do change.

Sugar is the reason for the cancer
@Heck_Ster5 ай бұрын
@@Delphius- Sugar doesn't cause cancer. From the Mayo Clinic where I was treated: "The cause of endometrial cancer isn't known. What's known is that something happens to cells in the lining of the uterus that changes them into cancer cells. Endometrial cancer starts when cells in the lining of the uterus, called the endometrium, get changes in their DNA. A cell's DNA holds the instructions that tell the cell what to do. The changes tell the cells to multiply quickly. The changes also tell the cells to continue living when healthy cells would die as part of their natural life cycle. This causes a lot of extra cells. The cells might form a mass called a tumor. The cells can invade and destroy healthy body tissue. In time, the cells can break away and spread to other parts of the body".
