Russell, in each one of those water holes, take your excavator and dig a drainage trench on the low side of each water hole all the way down below the lowest bottom part of each hole so any water that will try to puddle back in these holes will just drain out and won't accumulate in them. Good Luck, Put that machine to work for ya:)

There is usually two problems with that idea. One is that half the time it's bedrock right and the 2nd is that erosion will drain away what dirt is there.
@1howieshel8 ай бұрын
@@RaspberryRockOffGridCabin Trust me, if the waterhole isn't at bedrock yet your drainage trench won't be either and if it is then that will be the bottom of your drainage trench also, it will work a lot better than the current methods used and will be good content to watch:)

Yeah Russell I use cutter backyard bug control to control mosquitoes fleas and ticks it also works on black flies which we call them horse flies which I'm pretty sure the same thing it comes in a bottle that you hook up to your garden hose and spray it around the area that you want protected it does 5,000 square and last up to 12 weeks and black flies you have and mosquitoes and everything else works great I'm sure you could use the pond water and hook it up to the bottle to spray it out

Another idea is to use your little backhoe to fill your trailer full of gravel and then put gravel down on your path and then eventually pave it and maybe put in some nice little sidewalks and some solar lighting. I think that would look nice and you know you would have a permanent trail. Do you know how to mix asphalt?
@soggyb40828 ай бұрын
When you cut those small trees, lay short pieces cross ways giving you a bridge. It’s will mass down and just keep adding where needed. Kinda like you was doing in vid but fill it up.Eventually it will be solid.
@redcanoe148 ай бұрын
Greetings Russell. My homestead is more sloping than yours, so there are less boggy patches. My strategy was to drop more crush rock onto t and build up a deep layer that was then covered in pit run. Even with this and a drainage ditch I have probably put 20K or more into it and vehicles drive up her in 2WD which eventually scuffs off the top layer.

Great your back. Your fans missed you and your adventures. Too bad you could not get your little excavator (Bumble Bee) in there to fill in the hole with all the water, using the surrounding dirt and stones and maybe dig a trench to take the water away to other areas. A little bit of ABS piping buried in the ground may help, as long as you put netting over the end. Lots of beaver dams to keep an eye on. Looks like you and City Girl had a wonderful time and great weather in Antigua. We have been to St. Lucia and we loved it there. Probably good that the seeds you planted have not germinated with the cold temperatures. Willow and June Bug look so healthy. Your friends take great care of them. They must miss you when you are away. Such loyal companions for you. Missed your cooking, maybe next time. Have a great week and best of luck with developing the property where your garage will be located. I know you will be so happy to have one. You will be able to use your present garage as a green house if you change the gray plastic to clear when the garage is finished. All fun at the cabin, never out of things to do for sure. Does City girl have any craft projects she will be doing at the cabin? I love how she makes things from off the land. Did you get to see the eclipse through your telescope?
