It looks like the fanatical Light is still happening, it's not all sunshine and roses. New 10.2.5 quests show the Scarlet Crusade turning into a gigantic light monstrosity and proclaiming that the light will purge our stain from the world but it also hints that they will return in Midnight. It seems like the Light will split into the good and the fanatical side.
We could see the Scarlet Crusade facilitating the Light invasion by getting Yrel and potentially these new Arathi humans that could be their allies, remember Avaloren which could be the new kingdom and the Scarlet Crusade New Avalon. Even more interestingly Lothraxxion is still an agent, he could be creating this divide which in turn will weaken the Light, the void and us as all out conflict breaks out in Midnight. So what is all this new info and what is going on?

I haven't trusted Lothraxxion since he was introduced. He's Nathrezim, they're masters of infiltration and manipulation. It completely makes sense for him to infiltrate the Light forces who easily can fall to believing a dread lord can be completely reformed by the Light.

I think they're trying to re-take the control of the old human settlements, which were "lost" to the "monsters" and "abomination" according to their PoV. And as the author of this video said, it won't be the last time we'll see them and I guess we'll see some main action from the Crusade in Midnight cuz of the dlc being Void themed which is the enemy of the Light

Hear me out... one of the midnight patches will have us Assault Yrel's home base which will be on Faralon in Draenor. The zone was cut content from WoD and they could retool it for midnight and then have it Chromie time into WOD in future expansions.

if yrel comes back that mean alt timeline garrosh who seemed to be her protege and lover, and garrosh and thrall have unfinished business in the form of thrall needs to set things right, i dont think they will kill yrel or garrosh, i also wonder what happened on alt azeroth, could be a fun concept, lothraxion could be an agent just as much as he could be legit he also doesnt seem like someone thats in charge, the bigger clue to everything is avalon, i think that could be something we get as a patch, also do remember that chris metzen said midnight was the final confrontation between void and light but not everything goes to plan for us

In a cosmic sense I don't think there is an evil "side" to any of the forces. I think it's just when taken to certain extremes they all kind of turn in on themselves (the creatures manifested from those forces on the other hand likely all have their own individual personalities and motivations). For example, at a basic level the light promotes community and protection, but without moderation that can become zealotry and "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" justifications. On the flipside, the void is more insular and selfish and based on the spells wielded by void based characters they seem more focused on the mind and willpower. With temperance the void can foster a drive to master and better ones self, but without that restraint the loneliness leads to madness and the drive for mastery becomes megalomania. The key difference here is that light is people are more exposed to the light than they are the void and with the light naturally bringing people together they're more likely to find what they need to not go all in unless they're under constant threat. Void on the other hand is taboo and the void wielders who find each other tend to have already gone mad by that point since there is less of a support group outside of the void elves.

I used to love paladins since warcarft 2 with Turalyon and Warcarft 3 with Arthas. After burning crusade I fell out with paladin lore as it focused on the Naru which I wasnt a fan of and Turalyon coming back in Legion was very botched for me. Been playing a warrior ever since burning cursade after my falling out with the light. Hope they manage to bring me back.

Also shifted it away from being very unqiely a Azeroth born religion tied with the humans specifically and made it very alien and drenai focused and I wasnt really a fan of the drenai asthetic. And yea you are right many good paladins in the past have now had their reputation retroactively sullied.

The Scarlet Crusade should *really* be able to ressurect their people as lightbound undead, perhaps being in denial about the status of those brought back as 'undead,' I mean think about it, what greater miracle of the Light is there than being brought back by and infused with it?

Regular resurrection? They know you can just resurrect normally it simple requires an insanely powerful priest, and probably a non mutilated body. Whitemane for example was capable of resurrecting them, so their numbers not falling drastically from skirmish makes sense. Had it not been for that damn lich king and his death knights the forsaken would have lost to the scarlet crusade. Thousands upon thousands of elite troops died in the enclave. Ironically forsaken greatest hero is the lich king, he made them be born and destroyed their strongest enemy.

Always have some feal dat Scarlet Crusade and Argent Dawn will become one faction but Scarlet Crusade is way more radical so idk how they will spin them but in old wow days was hoping dat Scarlet Crusade will join Alliance faction and help reclaim Undercity from undead all up to wow devs how they place them now when Alliance vs Horde is not main topic/problem of wow anymore...

The largest kingdom, probably a few million more populous than stormwind. As for its land, all of the starting forsaken zones belong to it(tirisfal), everything in silverpine but southern silverpine which is gilneas, all of hilsbrad but dalaran city. East and west plaguelands, stratholme, lordaeron city now undercity, all of scarlet enclave, stratholme, scholomance. Also while not being part of lordaeron, alterac kingdom and south silverpine gilneans probably joined scarlet in limited numbers too. Let me think off top of my head, lordaeron city, brill, andorhal, scarlet enclave places, just do a death knight run and see the people you kill, stratholme, schlomance, southshore, hillsbrad fields town, tyrs hand city, Fenris keep, brill, deathknell, hmm think that is all I can think off immediately, but also remember forsaken were large enough to become a faction with only a minority of scourge awakening as forsaken.

Well i was wondering when the Scarlet Crusade got the balls to take the capital of the worgens - basically spitting in their faces - and not to mention the invasion against the forsaken, the Scarlets are somehow becoming more fanatic and distinguished in their actions. Even their access to more powers, their sorcerers, priests, even their paladins are even more powerful. They have been consolidating their power, recruiting more - but where they are recruiting from is still questionable, are they sweeping up ex-pirates and bandits?

I like this idea so long as they don’t keep shitting all over the source material. All you have to do is believe in yourself to wield the light, and a cult of religious fanatics have plenty of belief. I cannot wait for people to finally have to acknowledge that the Light can be used for evil. We see it time and time again in the books and in cutscenes or in dialogue but people refuse to acknowledge how insidious it can be under the surface. That’s why I pray they don’t convert Illidan. They’re already packed full of Lightforged terminators and captain America super soldiers.
