Isn't he a sight. They are pretty elusive and stay high in the forest usually until migration time. BB

I saw one of these three years ago, along with many thousands of periodical cicadas, in a university-owned forest. It was a surprise for sure, but a very welcome one. The few pictures I got were not great, but I still feel lucky that I saw it.

It is very hard to get decent pictures of these birds in a natural woodland. These were with camera traps so they came out pretty clear. BB

Thank you sir, for your bird watching to provide the video footage & info about the Scarlet Tanager. I was reading about the sighting of one in UK & the response by twitches there. Amazing distances that they will travel to attempt to see one. 🙏🥰 Australia 🦘🦘

I think I saw one yesterday! I was looking out at my water tray I have for the birds, (next to my feeders) and in the water tray splashing around was what I thought at first was a Cardinal but I looked and it had black wings, I thought, what bird is that? Now I know! I believe that was first time seeing one in my yard! So pretty!!❤ I do that some thick trees just on the back of my property.

Any advice on the Best Backyard bird feeder?
@MyBackyardBirding5 ай бұрын
A large platform feeder is always popular to start with and a tube feeder for smaller birds. Shelled black oil sunflower seeds are always a good start. Avoid the cheap big bags of mixed food most will be wasted. Have fun!
