Hi, Trauma nurse for 34 yrs. I think the “smelling salts “ was Narcan. It’s frequently used when people are found down without knowing the reason. It quickly reverses an OD. It also will do no harm if it’s not an OD. It’s also protocol to keep oxygen on a person even after they are revived. I once had to do CPR on a plane for 35 min till we landed. This was in the days before AEDs. I was calm till it was over. Everyone should have CPR training.

The “panicking” from the staff is what you’re taught to do in a stressful situation. Everyone thinks someone else will do it, and no one takes charge. You’re trained to take charge and start telling people what you need. Like in a car wreck. Tell this person to call 911…that person to get you blankets…that person to help you directly, etc. Sounds like they handled it well. Hope that woman is ok. :(
@supersparkley123 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree…it’s in the training to delegate because everyone automatically assumes someone else will take charge in an emergency situation.

I fell onto a bare concrete basement floor right next to a makeshift pulpit as a 10 year old in a church that was being built. My friend and myself fell through a board where the stairs had not yet been built. We weren’t supposed to be there obviously, but this was prior to safety first days. All kinds of weird/near misses this far in my life. Sooooo glad you didn’t fall. Never ever will I forget that pain.

As someone who deals with OCD, it always gets worse when I'm under a lot of stress but also in new or uncomfortable situations. They have outlet covers that is the same shape as the outlet that you put over top of the plugs so she can’t unplug everything you can get them in the isle where they have the child safety locks n stuff . That would probably stop her from being able to mess with the plugs . It wouldn’t hurt to check them out. You can probably get them at Home Depot or even Lowes if you have on in your area even Walmart might carry them in the Baby section . My granddaughter is 5 and she likes playing with my outlet’s plugin things in and unplugging things so i use those outlet covers and they work awesome

The panic is real! I worked for an elementary school giving extra help in kindergarten classrooms, and one of my students stopped breathing on me (Probably an asthma attack but we didnt know that till later.) That was the scariest moment of my life trying to figure out if he was choking or what. He was able to still wheeze a little air in and ended up being ok, but that took me out for the rest of the day. I pretty much blacked out for almost an hour, didn't go to the next class I was supposed to help in, and turns out I sat in my boss's office for abour 30 minites staring at a wall. I dont remember anything till later when i was helping another class with a small group and snapped at them pretty bad and had to apologize and tell them I was having a rough day. It was crazy, unlike any other feeling. I hope that lady is ok!

Her friends were trying to help her but I noticed the cell phones start to come out so I grabbed my daughter and another person and we created a wall so they couldn't film her. After she started to come out of it I bent down and asked if she was OK and if I could get her anything. She said no thanks she was ok. I explained to her why we had surrounded her and she thanked us for doing that. I just can't understand why anyone would feel the need to film someone having a panic attack. If your not going to help then move on and mind your own business.

Celia, I am sorry you had to experience that. Thank you for praying and sending prayer requests. It seems you may have empath tendencies. I wondered for years why I get very emotional for others. It is like I feel what the people are going through or are feeling; floods, fires, car accidents, etc. When coming across information on empaths I said, that is me. It did not give insight as to why some people react in this way and others don’t. I don’t know, maybe it is due to my own tragic events; maybe the PTSS. Have you experienced tragic personal effects? All that to say, my reaction is out of my control, so I pray for all involved. That is within my control and can be a coping mechanism….. Thank you for your prayers for her and her family🙏🙏🙏
