Yeah, Pennywise's whole schtick is shapeshifting into his victim's worst fears to scare the shit out of them before eating them, since it supposedly improves the flavour. And as for why none of the grownups ever seem to want to help or even notice what's going on, I dunno if they ever address it in the movies, but it's implied that Pennywise has such a grip on the town that he basically makes everyone apathetic to the plights of his victims.

Pennywise’s eyes are actually all natural, his actor can just do that w his eyes lmao ALSO all of the children’s interactions with Pennywise are actually real. The directors on the movie actively kept them away from him until a certain scene

People misunderstand this movie and the sequel movie. Barely scary true, because its main focus is actually the bond of those children and their fear. And even when they grow up, they still have those same fear. It’s a masterpiece for me. It’s rare for a horror movie to actually have real deep meaning.
@NebulametalАй бұрын
"Watching this movie as someone who typically shies away from horror was quite the experience! When I first heard about 'It', I thought it was just going to be another cliché jump-scare-ridden film, but I was pleasantly surprised. The character development, especially with the Losers' Club, added so much depth to the story. I found myself rooting for them, and honestly, that was the highlight for me. Pennywise was horrifying, of course, but it wasn't just about the scares; it was more about the themes of friendship, courage, and facing your fears. I loved how they handled the emotional struggles each character faced. As someone who usually finds all of this horror stuff overwhelming, I have to admit I was captivated by the mix of suspense and the coming-of-age narrative. Still, I couldn't help but peek through my fingers during some of the scarier moments! There's something about clowns that makes me extra uncomfortable, so you can imagine how tense I was. But overall, I appreciate how the film blended scares with relatable experiences of childhood and growing up. I might not be converted to a full horror fan just yet, but 'It' has definitely opened my eyes to the genre's potential when done right. I might even be tempted to check out more horror films in the future. Who would've thought I'd find myself enjoying a movie like this?"
@LinDeGenetteАй бұрын
You would enjoy the book, it's long cuz every losers kid is a essentially their own main character and it's also half scary half becoming of age- story. So u follow their perspective all throughout the book plus a few "guest appearances" and a few chapters following some of the bullies and even Pennywise "IT"-self 👻 U could also listen to it if u r busy but personally I liked reading it my first time and listening to it later. It's about 48+ hour halloween tradition 🎃

The OG adaptation is way more explicit in how rotten the townspeople are. The bullies are unabashedly racist throwing around the N-word left & right while attacking Mike, Bev's filthy dad very overtly treats his daughter as a surrogate wife replacement, random adults intentionally ignore the children in peril, etc. Also Mike was the one with the interest in the town's history, it's lame that they took away that part of his character and gave it to someone else.
