I don't think anyone can understand how much this channel has helped me. I struggled with insomnia at least 3 times a week, but since finding Being Scared and the rainy night society, I've been able to significantly decrease the amount of pharmaceuticals that I would have to take just to be able to get a precious 90 mins of continuous sleep. My symptoms of the insomnia have gotten to where I don't have but maybe 1 night a week where I am unable to kick insomnia's ass and it's because I got SOOO damn lucky stumbling across this channel. There's just something about every different aspect of the videos that seem to get it EXACTLY right. I mean.....the way he balances all the background rain and fires with the volume and pitch of his voice, the way his narration is SSOO relaxing with no loud sound effects or loud screams to lull me off to sleep, yet if I want to, it is SUPER easy to get emotionally invested in and completely hooked on the stories. To me, that combination takes extreme talent, and a complete understanding of what people like us look for and need from channels similar to this one. I've tried other channels. There are a couple others I like. Such as........Mr.Scarecrow and of course We Shouldn't be Here are both great narrators that I highly recommend. That being said.....no one comes close to BEING SCARED. If I had the authority I would ABSOLUTELY crown Being Scared the undisputed KING of any and all videos similar in any way to his. Sorry to all the other narrators, im sure they work their asses off each and every day doing what they do. I totally respect their work, but none of it compares to B.S. I really hope he keeps his word that he will never stop making these videos for us. He just makes my night much much better. So, thank you SO MUCH BEING SCARED for all ur hard work. It absolutely does NOT go unnoticed.

@@361Ratch hi, the OP may not be comfortable discussing anything further, so I'll answer your question! I will be mentioning forms of trauma so TW to anyone reading. Insomnia is a common symptom of PTSD, and is also frequently reported among those who have experienced childhood trauma, especially abuse. Of course there are no set rules in how trauma will affect a person, each individual case is different. That said, treatment options are definitely something you could discuss with a mental health professional, or a GP (general practitioner), if you felt able to. @@361Ratch fear of disappointing your parents did it for me. I couldn't bare the fact I wasn't able to fulfill my mother's expectations. Sometimes I would start studying in middle of night at age 8 or 9. I am also scared of confrontation and hence was petrified of my teachers bullying me. But so much fear came because of my abusive household and my mother making me look down upon my father while sometimes comparing me to him. Really hurt my self esteem. But I am healing and attracting supportive people in life. I am also very optimistic and even though every child needs/deserves security, love and safety mine has made me emotionally very intelligent and empathetic.

Thank You so much for your rainy night stories. It's 2:43 am and I just woke up after a couple of hours sleep. At 71 yrs I have found it hard to sleep well at night. I spent 38yrs as a nurse and for the last 20yrs as an ICU nurse with my hours being 3pm to 3am. It was an odd shift but we found it better on our bodies to do these hours rather than the regular 7 to 7 shifts. Circadian rhythms and all that. But after so many years of those hours I find I'm always awake at 2am to 3 am. It's weird. Your stories are long enough to help get to sleep with your soothing voice and when I wake I just go back to where I last remember the story being and continue on. I never leave a whole compilation without listening to all the stories. So for your hard work and help you give to this grateful older woman, Happy 100th, and Thank you so very much for your hard work. I know it can't be easy to find and organize all these stories so there's a flow to them, and reading them so their really interesting has got to be tiring. I'm so grateful though and wish you many years of success. God Bless you, and Happy New Year!!!!!

The stories are awesome but for me it's your voice.. I was almost asleep when story #3 started. I’m guessing that one is the one you wrote Dane and my god it was so captivating. I woke up and listened all the way through. Such a creepy story and the imagery provided was haunting. Loved it! Congrats on the 100 videos. Been here for a few years now and look forward to more!
