Great stories; I’m loving them already. An octave is pronounced OCK-tiv and it’s a full musical scale. In the song Somewhere over the rainbow the first two notes: some where are an octave apart. Or do up to do in the do re mi musical scale. I majored in vocal music in college.

Unrelated but there's a scale change that really irks me. I don't know what it is cause I'm not musically educated and I can't give an example cause I don't remember one but a lot of music has it and it drives me nuts. It doesn't make sense in my head why anyone would use it cause it's such an odd key change

@@AlexsaurusRex I can imagine. We're not supposed to like dissonance and other techniques that are sometimes used in music. When something is dissonant, it then "resolves" in the music so that we're not left with that bad sound in our head. The resolution gives us that "comfort" feeling. That's probably what the technique you're referring to is.
