I actually asked him about this when I saw him in 2019. He said he was trying to get schedules worked out with Scary Pockets, so glad it finally happened. BTW the other thing I asked about was a Cory Henry/Vulpeck tour, which he is also into... someday.

@@6strbassplayer when it comes to bass vi there's not much choice out there. It's either super cheap chinese copies, Harley Benton (not that bad), Squier, then Fender, and then we go into super expensive territory that I haven't checked yet

Holy crap! That was sick. I love that song. Special place in my heart for Tears for Fears over the years. I was curious to see how you guys would "funk" this one. Man, it started out fine. No surprises. I was excited to see the organ. And then at around 2:20, this just exploded in an unexpected direction. So good. Lean but tight drums, cool bass cooking along, enough rhythm guitar to fill it in and that organ setting the world on fire. BAM!

That was awesome. No idea who you are, saw "funk cover" and imagined this song as conceived and performed by Parliament circa 1975-1979, with a slower thumping tempo and semi-spoken vocals like George, but this jazzier noodled version with more plaintive gravitas is also wicked cool.
