He should be at least as well known as Ed Sheeran!! Or Jacob Collier, not sure if he is!? But that pressure is a bit ... another thing, being a *big star* compared to a slightly underrated genius phenomenon whom musicians admire and want to play with! The latter cosy niche is probably much more inherently rewarding.

I actually asked him about this when I saw him in 2019. He said he was trying to get schedules worked out with Scary Pockets, so glad it finally happened. BTW the other thing I asked about was a Cory Henry/Vulpeck tour, which he is also into... someday.

@@6strbassplayer when it comes to bass vi there's not much choice out there. It's either super cheap chinese copies, Harley Benton (not that bad), Squier, then Fender, and then we go into super expensive territory that I haven't checked yet

Holy crap! That was sick. I love that song. Special place in my heart for Tears for Fears over the years. I was curious to see how you guys would "funk" this one. Man, it started out fine. No surprises. I was excited to see the organ. And then at around 2:20, this just exploded in an unexpected direction. So good. Lean but tight drums, cool bass cooking along, enough rhythm guitar to fill it in and that organ setting the world on fire. BAM!

this whole thing is magic. but 6 minutes till the end is other worldly. the "everybody want to rule the world" against the snare might be in the top 3 tightest grooves maybe ever.

One thing i feel about all SP covers is there is little to no ego… Sadly I don’t think Donald Glover would follow that concept

This is simply sublime. Also, amazing to think the original hammond organ technology is approx. 90years old. Let that sink in. It is and will remain such a unique sound, even in it's modern digital format.

Man, I love this! As others have said, it takes an already brilliant song to an even more beautiful place. Truly heavenly synergy between these terrifically talented cats! This is in my top musical moments of all time right now. Very few pieces of music have ever moved me so much. Santana’s Life Divine did it to me in my late teens. This has quite possibly saved my life, with its awesome jazzy, funky, soul. Thank you Scary Pockets and guests.
