Many prostitutes with the courage and bravery to come forward, knowing they might be treated differently and still coming forward have SOLVED a lot of serial killers!!! They are very brave women- Thank you 🙏 they have saved countless woman severe trauma and death. Some others weren’t “taken seriously” but decades later many murders caught when they included their information. Prayers to all the victims and their families.

@@alysononoahu8702 innocent until proven guilty is just something we say because it sounds good. Once you’ve been in the system or know enough people that have, you can know you are guilty until proven innocent. If you don’t prove your innocence, they will prove guilt based on some dumb things said without an attorney. Loaded questions make one sound guilty however one answers them. Which is one reason why innocent people get found guilty. Innocent until proven guilty is an imaginary concept that sounds good. A good attorney put me in my place on this as he answered loaded questions for me by pointing out guilt is assumed in the question. You answer it, you sound like you confess. Our legal system sucks, but I wouldn’t want to live under any other that I can think of. I don’t think the police intentionally prosecute innocent people, but sometimes they have tunnel vision and think they know what happened. Such as, if I didn’t have surveillance cameras up to prove my version of self defense, I would be in jail right now. Camera footage is indisputable compared to eyewitness testimony. They didn’t believe me until they seen it. Smartest thing I did was not talk to them without an attorney, never go court appointed either.

@@alysononoahu8702 I also happen to be the father of a rape victim, she was 8. I feel I was justified in killing him after he served his 2 years in Colorado prison. There is no way he is innocent, it isn’t questionable when they admit it, leave dna, and beg for forgiveness. At no point am I talking about people that might be innocent. Reread my original comment. I specifically put for the people that get out early. Which most should never get out. I do not agree with making deals with these people either.

I endured a 20 minute assault during which I believed the attacker was trying to kill me. I later learned that he was trying to quiet my screaming and ultimately wanted me to pass out, but he didn’t know how to do it. So he held his hand over my mouth and banged my head against items in the room and the walls. I remember fighting for my life against someone far stronger, but not being frightened. I was only frightened initially at the attack; the fright left immediately and I felt an intense, fierce driving force of life. Now I figure it was adrenaline. I felt dogged and determined, and likely could have held my breath for much longer than I ever could have in my former competitive swimming days. I broke free, dove into the bathroom, and was able to get the door closed to safety. Bruised & hurt, but safe, I broke the shower rod out and cracked a mirror to use a weapons. I remember looking in the bathroom mirror and not recognizing my face. I thought of the Elephant Man, so swollen. It wasn’t hard to slam the rod into the mirror. Fortunately, I heard the insistent knock at the front door and heard “Police!!”, so I didn’t have to confront the attacker with shards of mirror and a shower rod. I never lost hope. But I was a strong, smart college student with a bright future, so I likely had a better view of life than that of a sad prostitute. It was 30 years ago last March. Luckily I didn’t even think of it then, didn’t even remember it as a milestone. Kinda nice to write down the story and tell a stranger. Guy was caught and convicted. I hope these victims never gave up during the event. I bet they fought.

Good girl, Heather....and so smart!! I would never hv thought of the bathroom weapons YOU thought of -- I'd be left with trying to fend off an attacker with a hair pin, toothbrush or pair of tweezers! So maybe squeeze a bottle of hair dye in his eyes?? You'd hv to keep him out of the bthrm while you mixed it up first tho. :( Or hair spray right in the eyes?? I need to plan something out. Throwing a fist-sized ball of crunched up T.P. at anybody is NOT going to do it either. (I'm not strong enough to rip any kind of metal bar out of the wall, & may not hv anying to break the med. cab. mirror with. I guess you hold the shards of mirror in a towel so you don't cut yourself? I guess. Great weapon tho, if he gets close enough so you can cut his damn throat -- hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.)

A death penalty in California means nothing as there's been a moratorium on executions since 2006 because there's a "growing opposition" to capital punishment in the state. I have no idea why they don't just get rid of it. California is broke enough without keeping over 700 people on death row until they die of old age or commit suicide by hoarding then ODing on their antidepressants.

I find it interesting that normally they say “ was attacked” or “was assaulted” but when the victim is a prostitute it changes to “claimed she was attacked” as if being a prostitute means she should let anyone do anything do anything to her body up to and including murder. Like she is asking for it so its ok.
@richardkranium2944
@richardkranium2944 3 жыл бұрын
It’s not that they ask for it. They put themselves in dangerous situations, along with going along with peoples messed up perverse fantasies. Usually cocaine, heroin, meth or some drug is in the picture. The police judge it as hedonism and are skeptical of claims made by people not trust worthy in their opinion. It is messed up, no prostitute goes along with their demise. Yet they all know the risk and gamble with it. Prostitutes are referred to as almost less worthy as people in these types of documentaries. Which is disturbing because they serve a more useful purpose than politicians. Probably more honest as well.

When you have repeated run ins with these people and the stories that are false you begin to have a history of crying wolf and mental issues, drug use. Before you make your judgements about this how about you go to a seedy area and observe. (I grew up in Gary, INDIANA in the 80’s,90’s)

@@annc.3908 You're not the only person in the US that has encountered street people and seen "seedy areas"! So it's okay to ignore the street walker aka "prostitute" when she comes forward about a guy who tried to kill her so that the serial killers can continue "cleansing" the streets for you fine folk? K Rab makes a valid point about the difference in wording used in these videos. It's really too bad that every time a prostitute DID tell the truth to help law enforcement catch a monster, they are still referred to them as "claiming they were attacked" even with forensic evidence there including photographs to show that they were. How do you reckon a deceased prostitute is going to "claim she was attacked"? A seance?

Chance Pemberton that’s probably because they don’t fund forensic or detective work. I know in the US there are charities set up to pay for the DNA profiles of rapists as victims wait years, sometimes past the date of statute of limitations for this evidence to be processed. The sentences these people get are often disgustingly lenient. I believe the last guy, sadistic killer, got 40 years?! For murder, attempted murder and all the other charges that go with that?!! Are prisons that full? Are we stupid enough to think that a senior cannot commit murder? Is sentencing based on victims jobs, etc?

the Laura Houghteling case is a very interesting case, because it brought the actions of her killer to light. many cold case style shows covered this murder, and they also covered a once thought unrelated murder of a young girl named Michele Dorr. it wasnt until his murder of Houghteling that police realized where Haddon used to live, a young girl had gone missing, and been killed. he was a transvestite, and so when people thought they saw Laura leaving the home, it was actually Haddon dressed as her. although he was insane, he wasnt stupid

I would. they are just lost people who need someone to care about them and I agree about the narrator's voice. he is the best i have ever hard in my life. After a really stressful day at work i love to listen to him. Like Micheal Stanley on the radio may he rest in peace had a voice that calmed me driving home from work in may snow storms.
