In light of what Kendra has publicly said she has been going through, I hope she gets the help and healing she needs. I was not the biggest Kendra fan while she was on the show, and her post-show comments were not very nice and dismissive of Holly’s experience. I think it’s pretty telling that a lot of people who criticized Holly back in the day are now sharing they had similar experiences, and I think that just goes to show we can respect women’s stories, even if we may not have shared the same experience at the time. Abuse is tricky, and people don’t know what goes on behind closed doors, or the mask you hide behind to protect yourself. What I like about Holly and Bridget is that they can have different interpretations of what people say and do, without undermining the other person’s experience or calling them a liar. Women need to support other women, because if we don’t stand together, we’ll be pitted against each other.

As an outsider looking in I always felt that Bridget shared a close friendship with Kendra the way she did Holly & felt really bad for her when Kendra started downplaying their friendship. I remember Bridget threw her all of these parties & even went house hunting for her post mansion. She really did a lot for her. So, I never understood why she went around trying to act like she was never friends with her. You could understand her saying she wasn’t that close to Holly in the sense that she never had much one on one time with her because she was Hef’s number one. Bridget had a little more freedom than Holly & given the dynamic had Kendra around to keep her company when Hef & Holly were more preoccupied being the main relationship. I just felt Bridget didn’t deserve that as she went out of her way for Kendra many times.

It's interesting to hear that wasn't about her (though it could've been). Holly dodged a bullet with Hef. I used to love the show but the disclosures of what went on in that house didn't shock me at all. I worked in a strip club for 10 years and I learned very quickly that when it comes to sex and money, it is ALWAYS transactional. Now, don't get me wrong. I am not here to shame anybody. Wives use sex in some marriages also! But when it's a married couple suddenly it's funny and relatable. "My man washed the dishes and did the laundry so you know I had to show my appreciation!" Wink wink So to the people who make comments like "Oh, I could NEVER with that old wrinkly man!" You could and you would if the price was right for you. And that is a fact. These women should never apologize. We were all young and did questionable things. They just did it better because they opened doors that clearly many of us got to enjoy living vicariously through them. We wouldn't be here today if that weren't the case.

I've definitely reconnected with friends where the bad memories would come flooding back, or I'd have bad dreams about them. And it would really suck. Because the bond was there and I wanted it to work so, so badly...but there was just too much of the 'frenemy' bullshit to forget. I wanted to forgive and forget more than anything. But sometimes it's just impossible if only one person cares about improving the toxic stuff. If both are both on board for making changes it's totally possible. But can be hard to get both parties on the same page. Anyways one fist fight later and it was basically over. Still sad about it. But sometimes more time and space is needed. Everyone needs a bank of positive experiences before you can revisit the harder relationships.
