Amazing Fun fact: Angelo Dundee who was Muhamad Ali's legendary trainer when he defeated George in Zaire to become champion for the second time, was in George's corner 20 years later when he defeated Moorer to become champion again. George also wore the same trunks he wore in Zaire in 1974!
@MrManWithPlan4 ай бұрын
Same style trunks but they weren’t the same exact ones. In 74 his trunks had his initials GF on the left leg. His 1994 trunks do not.
@joelouis007Ай бұрын
@@MrManWithPlanAl Bernstein after Foreman regained the title asked if those were the same boxing trunks he wore when he lost to Ali. George replied he wore those trunks in all of his title fights he had to have them let out ! Maybe Foreman is distorting the truth because he weighed 220lbs against Ali for Moorer he weighed 250lbs !

It's a lovely movie that packed a punch like george foreman. For him to have everyone belittle and insult him for losing to Ali to then give up boxing all together to then come back all those years later shows the heart and strength of the man.

I watched it on HBO, even though Moorer was winning even couldn’t get away from the right hand all night

No he got hit softly with it all night and had the believe he could take it but he then stood still exactly where George wanted and felt the genuine article for the first time and couldn't take it. Tricked by experience and humbleness somethings to this day Moore hasn't obtained
@PrivateSmiles Жыл бұрын
The only reason they gave this movie a low rotten tomatoes score is because it portrays George in a positive light. If it was about womanizing and drugs it would win an Oscar.

There are few sports moments that shock you. That makes you just jump out of your seat. The 1980 Olympic Hockey team against the Russians was one. When George landed that last right hand was another. I went from sitting to standing in a millisecond. What an unbelievable moment!

Angelo NEVER tried to "comfort" George into quitting as insinuated by this scene. Dundee encouraged and lifted up and stood with George. Theatrics are one thing but this movie should never have tried to suggest George was anywhere near stopping. He would have sooner died in that ring before quitting against Moorer.
