Couldn’t agree more Fred. Marriage is about being able to understand the obligations and doing your part consistently. Constistently. No matter how hard it is, no matter how much you feel you need a break. Once you take a break because you re fed up, its no longer a family and no longer a marriage.

For those who don't know this is a remake of an Ingmar Bergman film from the early 70's, starring Erland Josephson and Liv Ullman. which is a masterpiece. This looks like it could be a good remake. I think both Oscar Isaacs and Jessica Chastain are two of the best American actors working today. Bergman made a sequel called SARABAND that came out in 2005. It was Bergman's final film. Josephson and Ullman reprised their roles. So will Isaacs and Chastain reprise their roles in a remake of SARABAND in 30 years?

You’re proving the whole point of the series. When something is unknown and new, it’s thrilling. It’s exhilarating and a little bit scary. But then give it a year, give it a couple of years. Do you have the same passion you had the first day you met. And I think that what people get wrong about marriage. It not just about the passion. The “you’re hot and you think I’m hot and we’ll do something for each other and with each other, so let’s get married.” Marriage is that commitment to everyday being process, that despite the good days and the bad days we remain together. And I’m not saying that mean your marriage has to become a chore as in something you “have to do” but rather it’s a choice to commit to something even when the passion isn’t always there or not even there at all. however in the same breath I believe it is that true love that will/should push each partner in a marriage to find ways to reinvent that passion when the initial passion seems to die.

@@shishirchitre1945 This is an insincere read of Jonathan. You can tell he genuinely cared (cares) about Mira. A mature choice would have been to sit down and discuss her feelings of being abandoned and left wanting, or just that the way Jonathan responds to her leaves her with the sense that she's no longer desired or desirable. Frankly, even the simple confession that she felt herself attracted to another man would have been sufficient to jar Jonathan into action. It was patently cruel and unfair of her to just dump the news of the affair and then simply cut and run the very next morning giving Jonathan no time to even wrap his mind around what was happening. And then as he went to therapy and engaged in some deep introspection, she came back and tried very hard to tempt him back into a "relapse" of a relationship she herself described as unhealthy and unfulfilling. Jonathan is not without his flaws, but he clearly did not completely stop giving a fvck about Mira and any distance between the two of them occurred by virtue of mutual inaction!
@shishirchitre19453 жыл бұрын
@@victorpradha9946 me and you are basically saying the same thing. Any person whether the man or woman, cheating on other like hell. And suddenly dumping the other just because they have flaws are cruel (realistically speaking). You should really come out clean about whqt exactly the thing you're missing from your relationship. If nothing is happening then, leave amicably. No reason to betray your partner. And this is applicable for every gender. It is so depressing to see Jonathan still interested/has feelings for Mira.

I have male friends who had to come sleep on my couch because they told their wives that the get the final say because they are the bread winners. @makokx70633 жыл бұрын
@@wintersolstice4793 That is a very beautiful sentiment and it's nice that you have been sheltered from some of the psychopaths of the world. The truth is men are more inclined to physical violence while women are inclined to verbal/emotional violence and there are plenty of women who will spend hours mentally abusing a man until he puts his hand through the wall then act like he's the psycho. There are lots of men who will do what a woman says, right or wrong, because if he doesn't she will mentally beat the shit out of him. Just like battered wives do whatever their abusive husbands say. The only difference is society condemns all forms of violence from males and a woman can physically beat the shit out of her man and everyone would just laugh, and psychological abuse is summed up with "that's just the way women are". When a wife says something crazy a man knows it's just better to go to a buddies place.
