Those 2 Strokes have such a mean idle. I remember my first 2 Stroke Detroit experience very well. I was in the field with an army and an M113 APC, which I had not been exposed to previously, roared to life one morning. Immediately drew my attention and I've been hooked on how these things sound ever since. It still kinda blows my mind that we used to be able to be these. Better times!

For the year last year it got mid 5's... I try to pull fuel mileage 98% of the time. If I'm hard on it and push the truck I have seen low 4's. 😱

No, it's not a DDEC. It's an '82 block that's still running the factory governor/throttle linkage.

@8v92shenanigans Get a DDEC dude, DDEC improves the fuel milage by 1mpg, And remember Peak fuel efficiency, oil flow thru the Engine, And Peak torque on the 8V92 is at 1500rpm acording to DD. Sorry If My english is bad tho, im not American🦅🦅🦅. Portuguese.
