This is a perfect example of why not everyone needs a supersport! You squeeze more out of that cb500 than most guys do on a 600class supersport! Excellent vid =)

and you have no idea how awesome it feels to get "accepted" or "recognized" as proper rider by the "big boys"!! I really appreciate your comments, Salt! Riding a bike like mine is an uphill struggle. Many people laugh at me. They simply can not imagine/believe that someone with such a shitty motorcycle can be as passionate about riding bikes just like anybody else. That's why I appreciate comments like yours even more. One day I'll be able to afford a "real bike". I will gladly laugh at all the folks who suddenly change their mind about the things I do. Just like they are laughing about me now. But I certainly won't forget about the people who always supported me because of my skills.
@SALTxTHExWOUND

Well just remember that most guys out there on "bigger and better bikes" still don't have the skills that you have, and you would probably outrun most of them on a track anyday. I believe it's 20% bike and 80% rider and you are a great rider from what I've seen. I've owned smaller cheaper bikes just like yours and had just as much fun then as I do now on a bigger bike. Just keep doin your thing man =)

thanks, Murcuseo!! You'll meet that motor home again in the downhill video of this road. Actually almost spoiled my fun again on the downhill ride. You'll see ;) It was my first time on this particular road but I went for a 'test run' before going for the video run. The uphill ride was almost perfect, fast and safe. On the downhill ride I got carried away a bit. Literally. I'll upload it soon!

Awesome ride as always! But you should try releasing the clutch instantly after blipping the throttle when downshifting, not gradually (as what i heard from the sound). Downshift should be even smoother then.
@Schaaf
@Schaaf 11 жыл бұрын
thank you! You absolutely heard that right! My shifting needs much improvement. But I've only started to adjust my revs / do clutchless up-shifting in late 2012. I'm riding since 2009. I have so much left to learn but as long as learning's fun like that I probably won't stop improving :)

Just wondered Schaaf if you have ever done a track day? I haven't, but would love to.
@Schaaf
@Schaaf 11 жыл бұрын
Nope. I'd definitely love to attend one as well one day. But I have a couple of issues: I'm 90% sure I'd trash my Honda on a racetrack. A closed racetrack is the only place where one can truly test his or her own limits. I'm almost certain I would go too far. I only have a problem with that because my little Honda is my only bike. That's why I don't try to do wheelies with her. I would feel incredibly stupid to destroy my only bike while trying to do a wheelie or act like a fool on the racetrack. Furthermore I think the CB's not powerful enough for actual, full-size racetracks. It's frustrating enough to often get overtaken by big liter bikes on straight bits only to have them block your way in the upcoming corner. This feeling of frustration must be even worse on a racetrack. Track days are expensive. I rarely have any cash and if I get some I usually immediately spend it on filming equipment. I consider these spendings as 'investments in my own future'. Although I could imagine that a much smaller go-kart track could be lots of fun with the little CB.

Schaaf Your welcome. I have some questions to you about your honda: 1. Do you have any brakes mods? I've heard from CB 500 owners, that it's breaks are not the strongest one, and you are riding pretty hard? 2. Do you feel any power gain after installing leo vince exhaust? Carburetion changes needed?
@Schaaf
@Schaaf 11 жыл бұрын
klstrucker930419 the only mod to the brakes that I've done is that I replaced the stock brake line at the front with a steelflex brake line. The CB's brakes work pretty well actually. You just need to apply a lot more force to the brake lever than on modern bikes. And still I'm using only 1 finger for almost all my braking. I don't brake that hard usually. :) No, if anything you could feel a power loss. The CB works best with the stock exhaust but sounds like an electrical sewing machine with it. That's worth the swap. I didn't notice any big difference. I didn't change the carburetor's setup.

@Schaaf
@Schaaf 11 жыл бұрын

Schaaf thanks for reply, have you experienced with another tires for this bike? i have CB500 too and i am choosing some tires with enough grip and great endurance. now i have dunlop arrowmax and i am moreless satisfied, but i am not riding as far crazy as you :D
@Schaaf
@Schaaf 11 жыл бұрын
lukol484 Only had Pirelli Sport Demons on the CB before I got the Bridgestones. I'm 100% satisfied with the BT45 tires. Other CB riders claim that they last for around 10.000km (rear tire). I usually have to change my rear tire after ~4000kms. But since I'm not riding that much I don't really care about that. I'd rather have grip than endurance at any given moment ;)
