I started investing with SCHWAB on August 26th this year. After watching lots of KZbin videos, I decided to go with SCHD & SCHG because of holdings, expense ratio, and performance. I also decided on SCHB because of covering all market cap companies.

Would ticker symbol ET be a better investment? I see that it has twice the dividend at 6.84% and year to date it is up 36.67%. and it is expected to perform well especially in a trump presidency.

ET is a good investment, but I personally wouldn’t make a single stock the backbone of my portfolio. If energy drops you will have no diversification to protect your investment. ETFs and Mutual Funds provide exposure to hundreds of companies in multiple sectors.

After I sent my message I saw that ticker symbol ET is actually a master limited partnership rather than a stock and because of that it creates extra taxation for the investor. So I am staying away from that. Also regarding the diversification that you mentioned I have 7 ETFs and three stocks the cover a variety of areas.

SCHD on sale? Are you kidding me? What is the average PE of SCHD stocks? I think it is more than 30. Also the everage dividend of S&P is 1% while its normal average dividend is around 4%.
