I know this is an oldish video by now, but my family doesn't spend a lot of money on anything and I saw this video and guitar Max's video and I fell in love, I was looking for a an explorer with a floyd for a long time and ran into this beauty, I ordered one and it arrives in February until then I will have this video on repeat. Waiting for mine to be built currently. I might try having the volume knob modified to a push pull that allows me to coil split the bridge pickup. I'd also like to change the tone knob so it no longer functions as a tone knob, but rather is a feedback control for the sustain where I can control how long it takes to kick in.

Only played a Schecter once, an electric 12 string that had a surprisingly narrow neck, for a 12! This one looks just as cool. It definitely seems to prefer distortion. Clean is nice and all, but on distortion, it rocks. Nicely done, Chris!

Great video. I just ordered on of these myself. That and a Schecter FR-S SLS Elite. I'll probably just keep one but who knows? I love the look of this guitar but don't care much about sustainiac and kinda wish this had the Fishman pups from the Elite, but after hearing it, I'm a little less worried it will get the sound I need. Listened to your music and it's really good. I do home recording all by myself as well. Going back and properly learning guitar because that's definitely my weak spot and is holding me back. Anyway, excellent job all around, my friend.

I’ve the e-1 fr s special edition and I gotta say, that distorted tone is beautiful but the clean tones aren’t really anything very great. Something about the apocalypse pickup makes it sound a little weird clean and the sustaining humbucker lacks bass and it too isn’t great with cleans. Amazing metal tones tho holy fuck

No. The finish on the neck is satin/matte.

Given the hot pickups and particular tone, do you believe that this guitar can driver what a Les Paul can? Man the sustainiac, look, and even weight are great! Otherwise I’ll get the Solo ii Custom. I think it would fall short of a Les Paul's tone. Still sounds great, but not quite a Les Paul. :)

I changed them for cosmetic reasons alone. I did not have any issue with sustain.

Question, can you use the sustaniac while using the bridge pick up?

So, the way the Sustainiac works is: If it's off, it functions just like a normal pickup, so it's used in mid and neck positions. As soon as you turn it on, the guitar defaults to the bridge pickup ONLY. This is because the Sustainiac pickup is doing its job of endlessly sustaining notes now. The pickup selector won't do anything when the sustainer itself is on.
