I am nuts about this guitar. Heavy metal body shape, mahogany, set-neck construction, ebony fretboard, 24 extra-jumbo frets, Floyd Rose, and the totally awesome sustainiac electronics! Schecter has knocked it out of the park on their E-1 Special model.

You're not hearing the pure guitar tone. What you are hearing is compressed by youtube. Then through whatever speakers are in the device you are using to watch the video. To hear the guitarsc"tone" you need to be in the room with it or get one in your hands.

The CORT Factory in Indonesia Makes Ibanez, Schecter, Jackson, Charvel, and Some Epiphones as well as some other brand names. The other big overseas factory would be the SAMICK Factory in China. EPIPHONE owns GIBSON Guitars, Not The other way Around.

Schecter is to me one of the most solid brands. Even if you buy the "low tier guitars" you get a very nice playing, solid built and sounding battle ax.

Gabriel Gómez I have an Omen 6 extreme FR and it honestly is higher quality than my 2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio. I also have a active hellraiser fixed bridge which is bad ass. The quality is insane and you can’t beat the prices.

Mr Guitar Max is one of if not the best guitar reviewer around. He's so refreshing because he doesn't indulge in any "Hey, look at me, I'm quirky and funny!" nonsense, with fast cutting that so many KZbin reviewers do. His information is always clear, cogent, concise & insightful, & he plays brilliantly. After some research on the Schecter E-1 model, this video tipped the balance for me to buy it. If Mr Guitar Max ever wants a career change, he'd be a very successful model, actor, or voice actor. But hopefully he'll continue doing his great guitar reviews for the duration. The Schecter E-1Special Edition & The Schecter Hellraiser FR are must-haves. CHEERS & KUDOS

If you ever wondered why Schecter guitars look so much like ESP guitars, it's because they are made in an old facility that ESP used to make their guitars. They probably never bothered retooling the equipment.

But schecter made guitars in Japan, South Korea and Indonesia. The guitars are designed in California, so I don’t believe the similarities in looks have anything to do with the tooling. It only takes a different template to built a different looking guitar, and routing templates must be replaced periodically cuz they can get damaged over time.

I have one of these. Great guitar overall and for something that was less than $1500 brand new, you can't beat the playability. Schecter got it right with this one.

Schecter kills it on some mid to high end models. Their Blackjack ATX line was killer, their Solo Custom LP style model is amazing, the Keith Merrow and Jeff Loomis models are dope.

I have two Schecters, both 7 strings I got in 99-00. One is a basic super strat body the other is the Schecter Avenger body style. I love a good extreme body style!! Great to see you back and playing!!!

Hi Max, I can't believe you're showing this guitar, I was looking at this one a couple of months ago! You're so right about the finish and that purple, it just screams. Plus I love the ebony fretboard. I'm a big fan of the ebony. I really like the sustainiac, I had a hellraiser with one on it. It's so wicked. I recently was interested in this guitar so I checked to see if you had a review since I respect your opinion and have bought several wolf guitars you reviewed and you were spot on with you accesment ,and low and behold you did and that made my mind up for me so I pulled the trigger and bought one tonight when it comes in I know it will be as awesome to me as it is to you ,I play in a band and have to keep my black star amp low on volume which really messes with my sustain looks like I found a solution!! @guitarmax, earlier today I went to my local guitar center in Stevenson Ranch. When I went inside, I went to check out the guitars hanging on the wall and I saw the Schecter E-1 FR Special Edition at one of my local guitar centers I go to(exact one you have in this video). I plugged this guitar into a Marshall, VOX, and a Blackstar and this guitar is one of the best Schecter guitars I've ever played. This guitar gave me goosebumps when I turned the gain all the way up. I wanted to purchase this guitar, unfortunately its expensive for me to buy but I had a great time shredding on this beautiful instrument. Also, your reviews and demos on your guitars are amazing. Rock on and always have fun!!!

Completely agree with you max the features on the guitar are awesome and it looks sick as hell! Definitely tempted to get something similar. The only thing i found that was my style was the charvel DK 24 in purple which is about £800 about $1000 i guess so I'm still undecided about what to get but I looked at the schecter range recently and didnt see this one so definitely given me some food for thought!
