Schecter has come a long way in the past several years. I love my Fender Tele, but I decided I wanted another Tele with a few more modern features. I was putting my dream Tele together in my head... purple body, comfort rib contour cut on the back and arm contour cut on the front, push/pull modern controls, ash body, brass saddles. Did some searching and I'll be damned, Schecter has my purple dream Tele hitting the market in a few months. This guitar has checked every box on my list. Finishing this post and putting my reserve order in now.

I just sold my G&L Bluesboy, really pretty guitar but none of the niceties that you just mentioned... and it’d be so easy :( I’ve got a Charvel Tele arriving soon with locking tuners, active controls, comfort cuts, roasted neck and thoughtful control layout. Enjoy your new guitar!!! I checked it out, it looks great.

@oldguyjammin97324 жыл бұрын
Davidd10 - Sold the wolf, too heavy and all the dark wood sucked up some of the Tele Twang you want in a Telecaster. I really like this Schecter but it’s a bit pricey, worth it to me though, I’ll be keeping it. Another great Tele is the TC59 by Artist Guitars. Very affordable and sounds and plays great, no kidding, but again it’s heavy at 9.6 pounds. If you’re a sit down player or young and strong its no big deal :) Great little guitar with Ballbucker humbucker that split wonderfully and deliver loads of Tele twang. If you wanna rock, just push that tone knob back in and BAM! Huge and growl-like humbucker tones. I did a video on one. Sanded the neck and got it looking really nice... just too heavy.

I own the same guitar and it's awesome! This guitar offers a lot at a great price! I was looking at Squier, MIM and American Fender Tele's. This caught my eye, I ordered one on Sweetwater and paid for a low action setup. It's just ridiculous how cool this guitar is! The neck pick up, the P-90 is warm, milky and very punchy. Paired with the bridge it's super jangly, extra crisp...just such a nice sound. Bridge pickup alone is good. This stays in tune and the body is contoured perfect for comfortable playing. It's hard to put it down and has become my favorite.

What's your "thing" with Fender? I'm on the verge and would honestly like a good reason to dislike Fender
@oldguyjammin97324 жыл бұрын
It’s a long list but here we go “in a nutshell” 1) F doesn’t do the little things that could make their guitars really great like full length truss rods, rounded off neck joints, or location slots for their bridge saddles, etc and don’t get me started on those terrible bent metal saddles. The modern player is a great example, it was anything but “modern”. Why save the little enhancements for the customs when everyone else includes them on their entry level stuff? 2) Lack of effects loops, line outs, switchable reverb, etc in their amps. We’re on the 4th gen of the blues jr and it still has none of those?!?! And it’s upwards of $600. The Princeton and 65 lack effects loops?!?! 3) the finish on my Wolfgang went bad 10 months after I bought it so I looked into a warranty replacement. I had bought it new from a shop in Texas for about $800, well now they sell for $950. Long story short, F said they’d give me my purchase price towards a new one. WTH!?!? Do warranty the instrument or not?? They should have opened the catalog and said “Here, pick one out, we’ll ship it next week!” What I paid is between me and the retailer and shouldn’t effect the warranty imo. Anyway, I had spent lots of time working on it and rewiring it so I just kept it. There you go... in a nutshell ;-)
@TheMidnightModder4 жыл бұрын
@@oldguyjammin9732 That's all very understandable! I continue to dislike Fender haha Also, when you make large vibrato bends on your PT Special do the strings slide side to side on your saddle barrels? This is a wonderful guitar but I'm assuming if I purchased it I would need to swap the saddles. (Also, what gauge strings do you have on it?) I appreciate it, man!
@oldguyjammin97324 жыл бұрын
@@TheMidnightModder - I run 9.5s on my Strat and Tele styled guitars for that little bit of extra twang, thinner than that and they feel too flimsy - however, a buddy of mine is really pushing me to try some super lites, even 8s!! My strings to not slip, but they would if I really pushed it. I’ve since created the tiniest of slots with the corner of the flat file I use to lower the rakers on my chainsaw chains :) I do the same thing to any bent metal type saddle I come across. The brass is soft so two careful strokes per string worked great. Loosened the strings, screwed the height screws down out of the way and made the cuts towards the back of the barrels. Before that the strings would sometimes come to rest right up against the height screw and lose some sustain, but not too big a deal... but still, not quite right ;-) I also don’t have much use for the pull pot that puts both pickups in series, however it’s there and there is enough room under the guard for a middle pickup, so... someday if I’m really bored I might throw a strat pickup in the middle. It would actually be a pretty cool upgrade. Take care!
@nevillecragg90663 жыл бұрын
I can’t understand why Fender cannot make any guitars sub elite level with a belly cut and arm contour in a Tele. It’s not the 50’s. We’re not driving the same cars as the 50’s. It’s called progress. Make a “traditional” for players that want that. In the Squier line where people don’t care how esquires were built give them modern cuts and cool new things that improve the experience
