New subscriber. 😊 I love the visual this method gives so you can change things around until it fits, then put it on paper. I usually do it on excel and just cut and paste over and over. 😂 This would be much simpler. I’m just starting to use AO for more subjects and came across your channel. 👍🏻 This will be our fifth year home educating. I will have a fourth grader, a two and a half year old and a baby. She is seven weeks currently. ❤

I’m so glad it was helpful! I used to do the same thing with a spreadsheet first, which was a headache! Enjoy your year ❤️

I've tried a certain of this before, but oh my goodness I love the color coding AND adjusting the size for length of time! Brilliant 🤓

I know this is an older video but im curious what you do the when your time slot is up but you havent finished the lesson? Do you continue with the rest of your schedule and pick back up the next day? struggling with this part of it but this would be so helpful.

It really takes a lot of getting used to! If we’re going over time, there are usually 3 possibilities. 1) It shows me I need to break the lessons down more. Maybe I had scheduled an entire chapter when I should have broken it down further and only done half a chapter. 2) It could mean that we spent too much dawdling time during a lesson instead of our keeping focus. I tend to do this and get sucked into rabbit trails when the kids ask certain questions. Before I know it, it’s been 10 minutes, and we’re completely off topic. 3) It was just a fluke or a bad day. If it happens consistently, that’s usually when I realize I’ve tried to schedule too much into one sitting. I re-evaluate and see if we need more time slots for that subject each week to keep the lessons short. Hope that helps some!

So thankful for this! I am super anxious over all things ambleside. This is our first year doing it. I have a year 4 and a year 0. Can't wait for your other AO videos.

It seems like a huge task when you first undertake it, but it’s so worth it! There is definitely a learning curve, but like anything else, you get used to it over time ❤️ If I can do it, anyone can!

@@smithpartyof6 do you use it exclusively or do you supplement?
@smithpartyof6 Жыл бұрын
I throw in some other things here and there, but the bulk of what we do is AO. Other than the subjects it doesn’t cover, you don’t really need supplementation.

Between all of the literature read, the poetry, narrating all readings and doing handwriting and copywork, there’s truly no need to supplement. When it’s time to add grammar, we use Using Language Well + Spelling Wisdom from Simply Charlotte Mason. simplycharlottemason.com/store/spelling-wisdom-using-language-well-bundles/
