This video depicts a scene in which SPDude, a schizoid individual, explains his views on why schizoid personality disorder is 'not' a disorder. In terms of making schizoid adaptations in a f*cked-up world to a psychologist.

Everything doesn't require remembering, reports and stories from family members, photos, and other sources can be just as telling of inadequate attachment and very early events and conditions that would affect early development. There are variations between research findings and theories of development, but it doesn't require a team of PhDs to understand that it isn't ideal for an infant or young child to face demands of defense for psychological safety and survival. Every story is different, but most have many common elements.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 The psychologist's affective reactions are so reflective of the typical responses from "normies" to "deep" subjects in my experience, and a primary reason for avoiding most social interactions. Yes, it's a giant can of worms, moist and squirmy, but in the words of Stephen King (Lisey's Story), "...you can't bury a worm." We have this opportunity to engage in civil discourse about issues that have been problematic for AGES, and will only continue to resurface in more destructive forms until we come to terms with them. Thank you Penzy for bringing the can opener, this is beautifully done. "Few his words, but wonderfully clear." Ha!, take THAT!, yearbook committee!😉

I'm glad that you're on board with this. A lot of your views resonate with my own views on this topic and you have the ability to communicate these concepts well via your comments... Which is helping to build SPDude's profile.

His final point is technically true, but the disordering of our lives and lives around us is somewhat a consequence of the abnormality and other things, which is what the psychs are talking about. Overall a good vid and explanatory. Not sure I can agree with everything he's saying though.

Sure, you're obviously correct that the disorder of our lives affects the lives of those around us; however, every chain of events has its cause or catalyst, and in complex systems, especially human development and societal dynamics, subtle causal factors can be easily dismissed and misassigned with over-reliance on faulty, incomplete and over-simplified "data". Every story is different and there are many factors that can influence early development including physical factors, neurodivergence, and intrinsic temperament, but all these generally lead to some degree of attachment or socialization deficits and adaptations to those deficits in early periods of development before the ability to understand and respond effectively was reached. Some of those adaptations are necessarily more functional than others, or more egosyntonic to particular temperaments, therefore less distressing- those are the fortunate few. The rest of us are usually left with the stigma of "what's wrong with me?" to contend with, amplified by a society eager to dismiss its own role in the problem and unwilling to enact realistic solutions, as evidenced by the lack of good research and treatment modalities for personality "disorders" like schizoidism. I'm genuinely curious what specific points you find faulty or in need of clarification, as the entire point is to encourage open discussion of schizoid and related issues. Each unique perspective adds to our understanding and may help others.

I hear you, though I think that being schizoid is not inherently a disorder... I do agree that there is a percentage of schizoids on the low-functioning end of the spectrum whose experiences align more with being disordered. So, the term schizoid personality disorder has its place in this context.

when your differences to what seems the norm for others stand out enough consciously they grants you the insight needed to see the how's an why's of others at a young age, evolves into a double edge blade with age as the same tool that brings one closer to others by understanding them also acts as the driving wedge between you an others, no human has a bottomless pit of acceptance tools able to withstand the gap between your and there feelings, understanding an true ability to care for whatever that person is being themselves due to the understanding, the life long fact that the others will never even be aware of the gap between because they (unless circumstance allowed it) never had to probe beyond the surface to function in the human social delusion, with only there thought structure activity cared for in the calculations for chosen action, hard to judge one critically when the bar is only ever scrutinised against ones own actions that are rarely if ever looked to dissected an judged by ones self seeking self improvement since looking at yourself dose not feel good as the light of truth sends the mind over the edge as it fails to sustain the layers an layers of delusional patterns ppl make unconsciously over time to keep themselves happy

Thank you for your insightful comment. I get what you mean, relate to what you are saying and agree with the key points you’ve discussed. When we become aware of our differences from the norm at a young age, it grants us a unique perspective on others' behaviors and motivations. Your observation that people often judge by their own standards is very true, and accounts for a lot of the misunderstanding we receive. The dynamic of understanding and relating to others when we are aware of our differences is indeed very complex.

@@SchizoidVision takes me a lot longer then you would think to convert thoughts into words an then long still to arrange set words together in a fashion that makes sense to the reader, trying to maintaining a parallel connection to the original internal meaning/understanding. that witch cant ever truly be expressed as nothing is singular, all consciousness/mind intersects and overlaps as all the being's and happening's of life occur. Any chance your aware of the human communication ability hidden behind the sounds/images and confronting demands of language/speech "the intention of thought offered/gifted to OUTSIDE turn energy, directed to mouth thought actions seeking external engagement (talking) every step leading to speech is identical to non language communication, only you don't direct the energy into sound and the other 100 micro projection actions that accompany spoken words. instead of doing that, direct that same energy gathered and released when speaking but sending that flow of thought, intention, desire and fact of will/trust/belief not out the mouth but punched straight though the back of your face. best to work with speech still till true experience happens. simple steps like trying to incorporate more intention an energy into the flow of words, once exceeding capacity of words the people you speak with should begin to already know what your saying tho you only began talking, helps with right type of person, the wrong type will attack the notion an if able make sure no one in group would ever risk bring it up, all because they cant see something naturally as are. there i go again, it was two simple thoughts but takes a page of words.

Good to hear that you appreciate the channel. I understand that this type of format is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's a good medium for portraying interaction/conversational scenes between characters, without employing a live cast.

@@SchizoidVision I personally have found that identification with a personally challenging concept through your animated characters allows me to approach them from a more detached perspective, when otherwise I might find it too overwhelming or engulfing or difficult to see objectively. This seems to be a common schizoid issue, so the animations are a good solution from that perspective; this in itself could be revelatory to a non-schizoid trying to understand schizoid functioning. Of course there is also the limitation of technology that produces audio quality that some find uncomfortable, disconcerting, or off-putting, much like some descriptions of schizoid speech as monotone or robotic. Personally I find it soothing, as highly emotional affect can be overwhelming, confusing, and trigger subconscious anxiety reactions that lead to somatic symptoms. Besides, this ain't Hollyweird, it's a low-budget altruistically-motivated personal project offered FOR FREE that delivers information that few are as informed about in a creatively unique way. Drink it up, it's good for you, it'll put hair on your private parts😉.
