Nice video, fogging these things is always subjective and you get different opinions from different people. I run a 2 stroke cocktail through by disconnecting the output side of the water separating filter that’s mounted in the boat. Saves messing with the fuel line under the engine cowling. Most people I boat with don’t bother with fogging at all. Can’t say that I’m aware of any problems any of them have ever had that I could attribute to internal surface corrosion from not fogging, and some of the engines in question are getting on for twenty years old. Hard to know for sure though. Takes 10 minutes to fog it though, so I do it.

gday mate this is a really good video showing how to do things it is the first one ive seen about showing the anodes and what they do . Did you replace that really manky one the way it was corroding not long before it may break off . the puritins will be having a fit " your not using genuine parts or oil you motor will be ruined " i will be taking delivery of a 40hp 2022 model with fuel injection this is the first 4 stroke outboard i have owned and videos like this help me get an idea of where things are and what to check and i have to say i have done my oil services on all my car and bikes since i was 16 now 63 saves a lot of coin and you know your engine again great video .

Great video, I have the same motor and I am curious do you drain the carbs or anything like that or just let the fuel stabilizer do its thing?

10th year doing it, leave them full. If empty the diaphragms in fuel pump and rubber on needle dry out and cause issues. ( i’m told) always left them full on a fleet of 7 rentals and never one issue.

Hey, so not fogging because with the 4 stroke stuff we have IAC sensors in the intake and injectors that it can bung up. I believe it causes mote harm then good. You can pull the plugs and spray oil in the cylinders. Or run 2 stroke oil through the fuel system with a seperate tank.

The 2022 115 4 stroke owners manual says to fog with fogging oil spray ( not " the mixture") right thru the port on engine while running. This might be different on the 2 strokes or older like 2017? In your video. I'll be trying it for the first time tomorrow at 61 hours..before putting it away in garage for Winter. My Oil changes get done in Spring as a rule.

Hi mate, l have an 80hp like this one, I am going to do all this now here in Sweden. So l am supposed to run the engine 3 or 4 minutes to warm it, so the oil drains out more, What l can not find on the web, So l run the engine on the muffs, lm now putting water back in the motor again. It's been out of the water for 2 weeks and all water is probably gone. I just feel hesitant, when it's now getting to minus in the night here in Sweden. Is it that l need to use some antifreeze in such case, but how can l do that,when I'm running a hose on the side of the house hmm ??? Also ,do you think l should run the engine out of fuel, Its carbed, this may help with the carbs building up with fuel deposits

Hey Kev, no need to run it. The oil will come out fast cold as well, plus your filter should be drained back and will not make a mess if it has sat for a couple weeks.

@@Schneids15 Thanks but , is it that you would get more oil out if its warmer ? And do l not need to start it to circulate the oil around the crank case etc. I will be fogging the cylinders, and have a full tank with fuel stabilizer.

you need gear oil as it's has a higher viscosity that protects the inner gears

Hey, yes they do. They are essentially a detuned 90 if getting technical. Have seen many over the years.
