Thank you for reacting to people who deserve more recognition like Geoff Castellucci, Morissette Amon...Tim Foust. Apparently i need both Bass and 1st octave subharmonic notes with the high falsetto, whistle notes in my life. Plus all three are in the 5 octave practical range. Great song and Geoff makes it his own with the Bass. I think the last low note was an E1. The whole performance is awesome. Geoff doing this by himself reminds me of the things Peter Hollens does. Great editing and performances. Great Post, Schnell. P.S., I think you would like his performance of 16 Tons. I love it.
@Jericho272 жыл бұрын
8:18 for anyone who wonders how his sub harmonics are so powerful. He has practiced for a long time and he is VERY good at EQing his covers. this one he misses by a fraction of a second on the low note boost. for a split seconds before he says night, you can feel the silence get heavy, i am fairly sure that it due to a already low and almost silent hum/buzz noise in the audio being boosted.. we cant really hear it as much as feel it. it show that the EQ for that note is boosted. He sung that note flawlessly and super clean, then just raised the low and lowered the high(as he explains in his low singing tutorials).

You said you like when artists harmonize with themselves. So, Peter Hollens and Lindsey Stirling collabbed years ago covering the main theme song for Skyrim. Peter layered himself over a hundred times and Lindsey did her thing with the violin as only Lindsey can do. They made a very fun music video! It's a Must-Watch in my opinion! If you have seen or heard it already, that's okay and I understand if you don't want to record something you have already seen. Luv your reactions!

I adore this song too, and Geoff's version has quickly risen on my playlists to one of my most played. I love his range, I love how smooth his voice is going between that whole range. Geoff himself says he considers himself a baritone with a bass range, but regardless of what notes he's singing there is something soothing and beautiful about listening to him. I'm glad to see you back, and hope you will keep coming back to both Geoff and Voiceplay!!! This is the latest explanation Paul McCartney has given regarding the meaning of this song. Source Wikipedia. I had been doing some [poetry readings] in the last year or so because I've got a poetry book out called , and when I would read "Blackbird", I would always try and think of some explanation to tell the people … So, I was doing explanations, and I actually just remembered why I'd written "Blackbird", you know, that I'd been, I was in Scotland playing on my guitar, and I remembered this whole idea of "you were only waiting for this moment to arise" was about, you know, the black people's struggle in the southern states, and I was using the symbolism of a blackbird. It's not really about a blackbird whose wings are broken, you know, it's a bit more symbolic.

Geoff's 5+ octave range is insanely impressive. As you probably already know, bass singers tend to have a larger than average range... just not this clean or broad.
@Mescherje2 жыл бұрын
Yup. But to be precise - he doesn't have 5 octaves range. Sub-harmonics and falsettos doesn't count as a vocal range in music. So, to be even more precise, whenever you hear someone has more than 3 octaves, you can call it BS.
@johndeeregreen45922 жыл бұрын
@@Mescherje, sorry, I have to 100% disagree with you. If you're making the note -- regardless how it's done -- then, yes, it's part of the your vocal range.

He should do asmr videos. Let's make it happen! And none of that sexual nonsense ASMR turned into. I want to hear him reading poems or ikea furniture instructions with snarky commentary. His A0 and Tim Foust make the components inside the phones oscillate when those notes come out of stage speakers. It's actually insane, the wavelengths and sub 40Hz frequencies probably move through the entire body, i want to feel that.
