The Hague a very nice place to visit. It's one of my favourite networks as well. I like the older high floors over there as they still have character.

Hi Brendan, Would you be able to do a daylight route 1 at some time please?. Be nice to see this run in the light.

I don't actually drive it in service as it's a Brunswick job. I can look at a view through the front window from the passenger saloon.

Cool! Did Geomatic Technologies do that geometric track testing for you per chance? :)
@Schony7474 жыл бұрын
The name sounds familiar. They weren't on this survey and may have had the last contract
@sophiehatcher28584 жыл бұрын
Cool :) I worked for them for a while and I remember a few of our guys were involved with geometry and profiling on the network

Was the video made at about midnight?.With the amount of traffic in the city I would say it was a friday or saturday. Really enjoyed it. Jim.
@Schony7476 жыл бұрын
+jim morgan Late Evening. Not sure Of The day. It was around 1030pm and Melbourne is alive at night. It's only been like that for the last few years with more people living in the CBD and some strategies by the City of Melbourne to make it more attractive as an attraction in it's own right.
@MrPete19666 жыл бұрын
What is geometric testing? What do you test for and how?
@Schony7476 жыл бұрын
Once a year a track audit is undetaken across the whole network. The guys from Geometrix place laser readers underneath the tram which reads the condition of the track and is fed into a number of computers onboard the tram. The tram travels around at 20 km per hour. All of the data is passed onto Yarra Trams for analysis.

Schony, this OOS run took 52 minutes. What would an average timetabled run take?
@Schony7476 жыл бұрын
looking at te timetable as I don't drive the route in service, it looks like a 46 minute run time.
@dallelassaad58836 жыл бұрын
What route do i need to catch to go to Falkner
@Schony7476 жыл бұрын
+Dallel Assaad Route 19 to North Coburg then a bus or a Metro Trains Upfield train to Fawkner.
@dallelassaad58836 жыл бұрын
Do u have drivers view daytime of routes 6, 58, 3
@Schony7476 жыл бұрын
+Dallel Assaad No daytime views as I don't drive them in service.
@maxischew5146 жыл бұрын
So what about the track testing?
@Schony7476 жыл бұрын
Every year a track audit is undertaken to assess the quality and condition of the track. 2056 runs around the network with lasers and cameras and picks up data which is then used for future planning.
