I think since it is dark, that the bus was bringing the kids home. I guess the weather turned icy before the bus run was done.

why cancel school every damn time it ices up they can put buses on snow routes to avoid hills but if they cancelled school every time it ices up say goodbye to your summer vacation then the school year goes 180 days from start to finish if you miss school days they have to be made made up taking time away from summer break just better hope you didn't plan a trip the day after school gets out for summer

This maneuver was the same maneuver I did after my bus started to lose control on a highway (proof: drifted on a highway turn).

they cant be there every time the road ices up the bus driver did his job well but the city's snowplows and salt/sand trucks really cant be everywhere all at once have some patience
