When I did my student teaching, they had sweet tea for the teachers in the back of the kitchen (that we were actually allowed to go through to get it). For my first teaching years, we'd have desserts with lunch and nice breakfasts like biscuits and gravy. My favorite dessert was spice cake. I feel bad for these kids now. I wish they still got a dessert. I have thought it was always unfair that the portions were the same for a 3 year old as a 15 year old. Just give the kids what they will eat. We also have high cost lunch for teachers. More motivation to me not to be lazy and just prepare myself something healthy.

Yes, spice cake! I found a channel where a former lunch lady makes recipes from her cafeteria days. Maybe I’ll try the cake and make a video. That might be fun!
